Verizon Rolls Out Rev. A Across Wide Swath of U.S.
who cares...
your also not aloud to do:
voip
streaming
peer to peer downloads
gaming
download music
running a server.

so thats why sprint is best on data. cingular and verizons set rules on data is harsh and is a reality. voice is only important to cigular and verizon where sprint lacks at supposidly by other users. i like sprint all around
roaming is free and data is unlimited.

sprint roams on verizon towers to, voice and data. so look into sprint and let me know how it turns out.

Everyone seems to be thinking that by having free roaming, you're getting all of Verizon's towers as well as Sprint's towers all the time and when Sprint has an overloaded or crappy tower in one area, that Verizon is going to come running to the Sprint customer's rescue. This is NOT THE CASE.
You get free roaming yes, but only in an area that you do not get Sprint coverage. If you live in NYC, and Sprint is all over there, but they always drop calls or always have static when you call, Verizon is doing nothing to help and never will. Same...

cant with verizon
and no extra charges and have had people tell me that.
ive used my phone on verizon many time where sprint is at too. no charges on voice nor teathering. want to test this? buy a sprint phone and keep it on verizon for a whole month. watch NOTHING happen
There is no EVDO roaming between Sprint and VZW. There is voice and 1X MIP roaming only.
Sprint will cancel the accounts of CDMA customers who "excessively" use roaming, starting March 15, 2007, according to a company document provided by an internal Sprint source.
Starting February 26, 2007, CDMA customers who roamed more than 50% during either November and December, or December and January (we're not quite sure which, sorry!) will receive a mailed notice that their service will be canceled.
Graciously, Sprint won't charge these customers an early termination fee.
For some customers, the cancellation will come as welcome release from Sprint. For others, it will be an annoyance and inconvenience.
So what o...

Maybe this will help some people here get some a clue, but I doubt it.
People don't understand why businesses do the things they do. Sure most corporations are greedy, but nobody in their right mind will say that they can expect a company to be OK with losing money hand over fist. After all that sort of things ends up like Enron...
Sure Verizon does offer "unlimited" data but their main concern is to keep network performance and reliability up to their standards to maintain and grow their business customer base. Their EVDO network does NOT exsist for Joe Smith to tether his PDA to his desktop computer and fire up 50GB of bit torrent movie downloads, or mp3s, or watch hi...

Might as well pack your bags and leave now, Verizon doesn't budge at all on anything. You'll never gain leverage to get a better deal from Verizon. Ever. They would rather you walk, seriously.

Look at the second PCS Vision paragraph. It essentially describes the same limitations as AT&T and VZW. Just like Sprint to bury this information under their phone plans page and mislead you with some crap on their home page.
You have to understand that none of the wireless carriers data networks are designed to handle constant data streams. Their base stations would quickly max out their carrier bandwidth with any significant number of subs streaming data off the same cell site.
To my knowledge very few peoples access are ever shut down due to abuse. You can get away with streaming as l...

Also...don't confuse ineptitude with permission. It is no easy task to identify data subscribers that are abusing the terms and conditions. My take is Sprint may not be shutting accounts down yet (if they aren't already) because they are not able to identify the abusers quickly enough. However, an interesting test would be for you and 5 of your friends to pick out the nearest Sprint base station in your neighborhood, meet there and start watching LOTR from your Slingbox on your mobile device. One of two things will happen. Your account will get shut down or that base station will start blocking other data sessions.

sprint tv is streaming so cant argue that
teathering is not aloud unless you have a Pam PLAN
is basically your summery
The numbers that Sprint/Nextel continues to put out to me are the best indication of where they stand with their subscribers. Highest churn, worst financials, lowest net subscriber adds. Oh...btw VZW had the highest data revenue of any carrier in 4Q06 yet their ARPU is not the highest of all the carriers. Hmmm...perhaps that means their network and data services are pretty decent afterall and ...

Right now, I'm just doing a lot of monitoring the market, personally when it come to voice, I gotta say Cingular is the best bc of rollover, I just wish I can get more than 900 minutes for $60/mo!!!! More like 1200, or 1500!!!!
whenever a customer comes to my store i have to find out if they are a spender or a saver...
savers are rollover
spenders are sprint 7pm or buy 6pm for 5$
equal sized networks with roaming included
Please check my comments further down....there is a link to Sprints Terms & Conditions that clearly describes the same limitations to their PCS VISION network as AT&T and VZW.
Think....Sprint and VZW use the same network technology. Why would Spint be able to support unlimitted use on their network and VZW not. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see them do some unhealthy things due to their ongoing dismal business results.
sprint is 1900mhz and has more channels and bandwith so its able to allow unlimited.
using verizon its easier to drop someones call vs sprint
The 800Mhz and 1900Mhz frequencies have the same capacity to carry calls when comparing like technology (CDMA to CDMA). The same is not true for CDMA to GSM (GSM uses a less efficent TDMA air interface). So to state that VZW drops calls more frequently because they use the 800Mhz frequency is just not true. In fact the propogation characteristics of the 800Mhz frequency lends itself better to covering larger surface areas and in building. PCS does not propogate well in building and so you will actually be more likely to drop a call with PCS when you enter a structure. PCS also requires more base stations to cover the same surface area. What PCS does do w...
