Does me and millions of others no good who don't use this outdated format.
I really tired of us CDMA users having to chose from endless new Moto crap phones while GSM enjoys the better brands, models and features.

Sounds like you should switch to a GSM carrier than huh? And what do you mean outdated? If by that you mean capable of doing a lot more things than CDMA than I know exactly what you mean by outdated. You know newest phones... Latest technology... yeah your right this GSM outdated bullcrap is just ticking me off.

WOW! I'm just now fond of some devices supporting European frequencies, and some devices supporting U.S. bands, damn it, the G in GSM stands for Global, I think ALL GSM handsets should be 850/900/1800/1900/2100.

I mean let global mean global!!!

Um, what does the NUMBER of users have to do with WHICH technology is better?

CDMA is well documented as the superior tech.

It's just not as widely used...nor has it been on the market for as long as GSM.

And with that I'd like to add the following: GSM handsets recoup their the associated with marketing them globally. More GSM users=economies of scale. THAT's why GSM carriers get the good stuff.

The G in GSM stands for GLOBAL!!!!!!!

CDMA is the miniority.

860 networks in 220 countries/areas of the world.

http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/index.shtml »

Only " 330 million CDMA2000 and 50 million 1xEV-DO users by the end of 2006.”

http://www.cdg.org/news/press/2006/Nov27_06.asp »

Compared to this many worldwide GSM users:
Global GSM users 1.5 billion

gsm has far more features than cdma, i'd rather use gsm than overly restictive cdma, plus gsm has a superior codec which blows cdma's abysmal codec out the water, gsm's natural sound is much better than that muffled cdma crap.

you all do realize GSM and CDMA are coming together in WCDMA. Using the CDMA air interface was the only way to get high speed data since the GSM interface isn't very well adapted to data. Cingular and tmobile are deploying WCDMA they are just calling it HSDPA or UMTS. Look on the back of those 3g phones and you will see qualcomm WCDMA imprinted in the back. All of you GSM subs are or about to be using CDMA technology. The only remaining part of GSM will be the core at the base of the tower. With 4g that core will be gone. Must feel bad just now going to 3g while current 3g carriers in the US are deploying or planning on deploying 4g.

WCDMA is NOT CDMA.
Learn it.
Remember it.
Do you homework please.

It is the CDMA air interface with the GSM core. I hope you know what that means but somehow I doubt it. You just can't stand the fact that CDMA and GSM are coming together. The reason for the air interface change is GSM is very wasteful with spectrum which is expensive and in short supply.

give me a break... these phones are introduced at "3GSM"... will anyone put a CDMA phone on display in a GSM conference? I bet all these phones have CDMA version released in Korea already.

The F520 was unveiled at CES in CDMA form, so hopefully we'll see that phone in the US. Though I've got my sights on th F700 if that hits a CDMA format.

GSM might be better in some abstract sense, but out in rural South Dakota, we only have CDMA carriers, so the debate is relatively pointless for me to engage in.
