Oooooh that frustrates me so, so, so much.

I'm tired of hearing about all these wonderful phones we'll never see here in the states. I would love it if someone would explain to me how it is that all these other countries seem to be kicking the cr*p out of us when it comes to cell tech. For my money, I'm guessing it has to do with the makers and networks. Think about it, they can sell us 2-3 year old technology at cutting edge prices, and take their sweet time upgrading their networks. Not like we have an alternative.

Even for those phones that do go quadband, most of the good ones are never caried by local carriers, so we are left having to purchase them unlocked for a above premium price - guarantee it will even work properly on our networks.

Well, with reguard to an unlocked GSM phone working properly here in the U.S., I used the Sharp V903 from April last year, til just this past Thursday, it worked just fine on Cingulars network.

Couldn't use internet or MMS's though, just phone calls, and txt msgs.

That's what I was getting at when I said 'work properly.' I understand that it is next to impossible to get full functionality out of an unlocked phone on Cingular.

I nabbed a W810i off of ebay a few months back and was finally able to get it to work on my network after surfing a few forums and finding some firmware updates.

I got lucky, but depending on the network and phone, your mileage may vary.

Are you speaking of just simple making and recieving phone calls on the network?

Or MMS's and Media Net settings, cause that's what I don't have a dent of a clue about!!!

Hey, easy people. I sell alot of unlocked phones and dont get hardly any complaints. I did have a guy last week bring his unlocked KRZR back in and make a big fuss about picture messaging. I calmed him down, told him the settings CAN be changed and then it will work. I told him to call tech support at Cingular and let me know what happens. I followed up the next morning. He said he was on the phone with tech support for four hours (Good job Stinkular) but finally got the settings switched and now it sends and receives pictures. If you want a sweet phone, move to Europe or just get one from me.!
