This is a shock. One would think that since ESPN was a Sprint MVNO that they would have struck a deal with Sprint, perhaps allowing their former customers to continue operating with Sprint service. Does anyone know what actually happened to the old ESPN Mobile customers? Wow! Verizon must have paid a pretty penny to get an exclusive with ESPN!

There was some deal for mobile espn customers to come to verizon and get a cheap razr. I don't know how long that went for or the details exactly. But they had something in place like that.

ESPN realize that Verizon is a winner! They had terrible success with Sprint, when they were a MVNO.

But once again this will be great for Verizon Wireless

This makes perfect sense if you do the math. Sprint has about half the retail postpaid customers of VZW due to MVNO and Nextel numbers. It would not be likely that Nextel based Sprint customers would get a phone that would even work with live broadcast tv in the near future. If ESPN is getting a cut it only makes sense to go after the company with the most postpaid users.
This is great news for the sport enthusiast and VZW. I can't wait until this launches here in Chi Town.

This will definitly help with sales. Heck, I think I might just go ahead and get V-Cast myself. Depends how good the programming is on there. ESPN Mobile had an awesome spread of news and info on there. If we got the whole package former ESPN Mobile users had, there's almost no way you can say no to this.

Knowing someone who had the MVNO service, the Sprint portion worked, the service itself sucked. Get real. What moron will pay over priced content that is free (at least most of it is) on Sprint already and pay ESPN/VZ for it? Gee, was it like 60K idots who bought it when it was first out? So, what makes people think it will work again? And on the vz network at that. Regardless.. it's still over priced so just stay home and watch it. Oh, the phone SPrint used was great..
