Windows Mobile is super buggy and unless they rectify that in this new version, I won't even consider it.

I'm curious, if a person wants a SmartPhone, other than the iPhone, what's your alternative if your not confident in Windows Mobile.

Because I don't yet have a SmartPhone, but I would really like to have the internet everywhere I go, email, ebay, Slingbox, all that stuff all on-the-go.

So what the heck would be the alternative??? To Windows Mobile

When it comes to features, camera, 3G connectivity, the E62 is LACKING, and in my opinion, would fit in just fine way, way back in 2001/2002! ! ! Far more so than 2006/2007

The only real alternatives are the Palm Treo series, Blackberry devices and Nokia has its own home grown series as well as LG.
By far, Palm and Microsoft are the leaders when it comes to popularity and number of great 3rd party software offerings.
If you plan to do a lot of web browsing, it's hard to really suggest any of these devices. I am an avid user of these devices and even I hardly use them for web browsing. This is mainly due to slow speeds and web page rendering issues. Most sites just don't have PDA versions of their sites and full sized pages look terrible on 2 or 3 inch screens. These small browsers lack in depth settings or configurations. Apple's iPhone is really the only promising looking unit for honest web browsing i've s...

I just got the Cingular 8525 this past Friday.

I like the touchscreen. I haven't yet recieved my 2GB microSD card in the mail, but I am looking forward to the music experience.

Syncing it is extremely easy, I like to drag and drop pictures to use as wallpapers.

Yes, I've dome quite a bit of web browsing, and thus far one of the few truly rendered pages is amazon.com!!!

I'm still debating about keeping the internet, but in the long term, I definetly want to keep MobiTv, and XM.

The current devices arn't perfect but the work well I have had a windows ce device for a long time (my 1st was a old casio windows ce 1.0) I think the biggest problem with these devices is people over sell them I have herd sales people say "dump your laptop you will never need it again" and that is NOT true they are great orginisers and ok for limited web browsing ( I personally think you need to install pocket Opera browser to surf dump pocket IE) also they are great for email. Microsoft did not make them to replace a laptop

I disagree that Windows mobile is "super buggy". I switched from Treo devices because of many issues with poor reliability and have been impressed with Windows Mobile 5 overall. That's not to say there is no room to improve, clearly it needs to improve in several areas. I rarely have to reboot them for lock ups and issues unless some software I installed is conflicting or just poorly made.
Having owned 4 different WM5 devices, I think it's definitely improved over older version quite a bit and I recommend them to people who need more than just a phone to do business with.
