I was one of the first people to buy the original chocolate. There was something about it that just felt ahead of the curve. The interface, the touch screen, the music management and playback. It was all fairly new in the phone market.

Going to a claimshell and removing touch screen is the wrong thing to do. Now it just looks like any other phone. If I want a slimmer phone I'll get a razor. What's so special about it now?

There are phones out there with touch screens and easy to type on keyboards that flip out. I was expecting chocolate to take the next leap to iphone type functionality. Instead it went backwards in terms of taking risks and pushing design.

Anyone else agree?

I see your point, but I actually like it. Regardless of what LG says, I still look at the Chocolate3 as the latest rendition of the 8600 as opposed to the sliders.

I agree with it staying a slider, I currently have the C2 and what appealed to me was its appearance and size. Making it a flip seems so weird that its still a Chocolate but is styled completely different. The outside of the phone looks sexy don't get me wrong, but I think the inside looks like a toy phone. My store will be selling it here shortly so i'll see how it sells. One thing i am reading about is the battery life is pretty good on the C3. Thats great news and that alone can make or break a phone. Well we will see how it performs, good luck LG!

I agree with both of you... I think the C3 should be a slider however, the 8600 sort of had an alias of the "chocolate flip" which i thought wasn't accurate... the jog wheel is what makes a chocolate in my opinion...
This flip phone reminds me a lot of Sprints LX-570 (Muziq)...fancy on the front, junk on the inside.

I would say they probably didn't revolutionize anything because of the Dare release. That is a much higher end phone. They probably put the money into that.

I have the C3 and I think it is a very good flip phone. I personally cannot stand sliders and wouldn't have bought the C3 if it was a slider. The overall execution of the C3 is much better than either the C1 and C2 as well. The keypad is better, both screens are bright and clear and the phone is incredibly fast with all the memory in it.

Play with it first before you go berating it.

Neither the 8500 nor 8550 have touch screens for one. 🤨
And what makes it different from the RAZR? It's not garbage! And I don't think it was a step backwards at all. The Chocolate was never more than a mid-range phone, LG is keeping it that way. If you're looking for a LG phone similar to the Iphone, look at the DARE.
