SE is my favorite phone line the past few years but I would love to enjoy 3G on my handset. My s710a I love but why no UMTS stateside from them?

I love SE too, only phones I really like.

I agree they need to hit the US with a 3g phone or more so a quad-band gsm with tri-band 3g. Other manu's can do it why not you SE?

I bet it has something to do with Qualcomm. The Cingular 3G phone makers all use Qualcomm chipsets for UMTS.

I don't understand what prevents Sony Ericcson using Qualcomm chips???

But I definetly agree, no HSDPA Sony Ericcson handsets, procrastinators!!!!!!!!!

That Cybershot series is attractive.

My guess is T-Mobile would be quicker to pick these handsets up than Cingular.

Why? T-Mobile traditionally doesn't carry Sony Ericsson phones. And when they do, it's usually one low-end handset.

Pretty much the only reason I said that is bc T-Mobile seems to embrace CRAPPY edge, and all these handsets have edge NOT EVEN UMTS!!!!!!!

That's all, seems like T-Mobile embraces edge

yes, there I said it. Because more importantly, when are we getting a DECENT cybershot phone? Not one carrier picked up the k790, and this new K550 is really cruddy. No xenon flash, no bestpic, no red eye reduction, but most of all, we have to settle for a mediocre 2 mpx. camera. Where's the 3.2 mpx love? It all goes to the Euro K810. C'mon SE add a little quad band and we're in business!

why carry two devices? 3.2 mpx is all you really need for the basic photographer.

Absolutely. One device is better.
