AT&T Combines Wireless, Wireline In-Network Calling

Still, though...I'm a fan of offering integrated services, as long as you can legitimately USE all the services involved.

and people talk about sprint giving away the farm... this has to cost a lot of money to allow this to happen... first to integrate billing systems and then to upgrade systems to know when its an att landline and then who has the plan... wasted money again... way to go att wireless...

in other words you can be able to talk to over 100,000,000 million customers and thers a website you can check on to see if the land line you are calling is ATT, so i don't see how it is wasted money, ATT will be and is the largerst network and ATT is world wide, i think they have a point doing this, dumbasses!!

Sprint has nothing to give away.... Now that all land-line services are Embarq, combined-billing will only last till contract expiration. Then you have a choice: migrate to Embarq Wireless (MVNO of SPCS) or stay SPCS, upgrade your phone and integrate into your cable (JV w/ big cable carriers) bill...

First off, AT&T Wireless was a seperate company from AT&T when Cingular bought it. And with the buy out of and rebranding of Bellsouth and Cingular; AT&T figures on saving a butt-load of cash on advertising. That alone will make up for the potenial money lost in the call anyone on AT&T scheme along with the computer system merger. Rather than having a minimum of 4 completely different computer systems ($$$) they'll only have one. Personally I think it's an incredibly smart buisness move no matter how much I don't like it.

It wasn't an issue of saving money, it was an issue of keeping money. No sharing... Cingy was jointly owned by BS & SBC... Now all monies are ATT...
In the end there is no right solution. Only what makes stock prices go up. SPCS tried spinning off w/ Embarq. That back-fired because Embarq's stocks are great and SPCS (no thanks to the merger) are headed to the toilet. Now ATT merges it all together in one package (wireless, land-line, internet, etc), I would assume their stocks being rediculous on the interim...
