This is what Sprint/Nextel has been waiting for, but reading the posts here it seems haphazard and it seems thet quickly threw this together just to have SOMETHING justifying the merger. So it's a normal Sprint with Push to Talk? Seems lame.

It's a good idea in theory, but so far it has not been working out to great. Specifically there have been TONS of porting issues.

If they could get the problems ironed out it would be great, because at least a couple of people a day come in to my store wanting the chirp with a Sprint phone.

It is a patch until they they can switch push to talk to evdo.

nextel direct connect and sprint readylink most likely will never be one in the same... nextel direct connecct runs off satellite meaning you need not to have service... sprints runs off voip and you have to have signal... in no means are they the same...
