The original buy-out obviously affected customers, but the name change now has no effect on customers. The only customers "affected" by this are the idiots that were fine with Cingular but have some problem with the AT&T name and no longer want to be with the company. Still, that's just foolish because absolutely nothing about the company will be changing aside from the name.

Oh, but it is that serious, being that i worked in a wireless store.. i can't count how many people thought they were cingular customers just because the name was on the screen of their phone, but they still had AT&T logos on the phone, SIM card, and had AT&T plans, and sometimes TDMA phones...

These customers get confused when you tell them they are still AT&T wireless blue side customers... and that they must change to the orange side with new phones, sim cards, and plans...

Now when the names is changed ...

Its not that complicated. Customers are NOT going to have to change theirs plans, phones, or simcards again.

This has been said so many times, but I'll echo it back... the ONLY thing thats changing is the name, thats it.

It's true that it's not complicated, but I think you're missing the point of what SkillciaX is saying.

Whether it's complicated or not doesn't matter as much as the customer's perception does. This can be the most simple thing in the world but if customers *think* and *feel* like they might be taken for a ride or something, then there's the possibility that they'll take their business elsewhere, or perhaps badmouth the company to their friends.

Its up to you to tell them what is what...yes customers are dumb but then again maybe you wouldnt have a job without dumb customers? Its fairly easy to bring someones bill up and tell them what is what!

Especially if they've been with the carrier since this back and forth started.
