A very happy Verizon Wireless sales rep!

$$Money$$ spent on rebranding is money that could (and should) be spent improving overall network coverage and quality. Not that I'm complaining since I sell Verizon and work right next to a Cingular store. 😁 Ma Bell has put all her pieces back together and looks to dominate the US again. I hope that at least on the cellular side Verizon shall re-take #1 status within the next year.

It's the network!!! πŸ˜›

Can't wait til Monday! Cheers AT&T! πŸ˜‰

Cingular more than 59.8 million subscribers

Verizon as of January 2007, the company served a total of 57 million

When I started selling it was more like...

Cingular 63 million

Verizon 48 million

....and that was just a year ago. They only passed Verizon because of the purchase of AT&T Wireless. Most of those customers have left or are leaving and Verizon is clearly benefiting. It will happen sooner than you think. 🀀

We know Verizon will win in the end. When the LG Shine comes out, the so called "iPhone" will be completely forgotten about.
Sorry Cingy, but not even the iPhone can save you now. 😎

Who is "we"? The very educated radio shack employees? Oh right, I'm sorry. I forgot you have that secret tool, answers online, so you guys know EVERYTHING.

Don't put words in anyone's mouth. Verizon will not surpass AT&T. This name change is NOTHING like the AT&T Wireless buyout. This is just rebranding and will not cost anywhere near the money it took to integrate networks. And plus, now we have 2 communications giants joined together to fund the wireless end of AT&T.

And forget your LG Shine, no one cares about that. Just look at the response at the release of the iPhone, it made headline news.

Don't fool yourself with your bs statements, Verizon will only fall from here.

Don't respond to trolls, you're feeding a monster and you're absolutely right. No one gives a rats a$$ about the LG Shine. The iPhone will do extremely well just based on the fact that it's an apple product. I'm no fan of Apple or the iPod but I know the iPhone will be a hit.

Besides, who wants crippled bluetooth and a lame OS with an arrogant carrier who wants to dictate what you can and what you can't do on your OWN phone that you purchased with your OWN money! Verizon is the ...

And I definetly concur with the comment that Verizon is COMMUNIST!!!!

Well, for that reason, Steve made the phone compatible with iTunes.

Put it in the dock, download all the info, get out your media card reader, put the pictures on your card, drive to Walgreens (Or use the online picture submition)...

There you go... I just saved you some gas...

Your right why have competition at all. Just let good'ol ma bell take care of everything for us. That’s America for you....bigger is always better. Lets have one store (Wal-Mart) for all our products. Let’s have one company for all out telecom needs. You’re lucky we've got these losers in government right now to approve all these corporate mergers. Why break a company up in the first place if you’re just going to sit there and let all the pieces get back together again. All hail THE phone company. Verizon mobile TV is coming soon and that service alone will put us at number one. Plus you’re no supporting a cold heartless monopoly. πŸ˜‰

What I was refering to was in the 80s when AT$T was broken up into the bells. No more bells just AT$T thus back together. Any idea on what percentage of all land lines in the US AT&T currently owns?? It's the majority I know that much. Anybody up for a good game of Monopoly? 🀣

Verizon is also a Baby Bell that is trying to return to Ma's glory, but with different companies. Verizon, which is made up of Bell Atlantic, Nynex (Both of which are Baby Bells), GTE/MobileNet, PrimeCo, MCI, and Vodafone AirTouch.

And now, Verizon has taken MCI's bloody past into it. MCI's scandals are now part of Verizon. You've got to take the bad with the good.

No monopoly on landlines. VOIP will bury wireline. Wireline can't compete with voip price and recently voip (not skype, Yahoo or any of the computer to computer apps) surpassed wireline in voice quality.

I'm not saying I want only one company for all the needs, Verizon takes advantage of their customers choice by blocking the abilities of thier phones so customers must use mobile web to download content. That is not fair.

I agree the restrictions on phones have been unacceptable. These functions are being unlocked on most new model phones. I have the enV and can transfer files via blutooth and can listen to music with stereo bluetooth as well. I live in Madison, Wisconsin and there is no T-Mobile here at all. They have a long way to go to build themselves up to being in 50-60 million customer range. CDMA services will have a major advantage over GSM in the US for at least the 4-6 more years. At least as far as nationwide coverage goes. GSM does not exist in many rural areas of the US. An iphone won't do you much good without service. Data transfer rates are another reason CDMA has a clear advantage.

Like I've told you all before, if the other companies were in Verizon's position (#1 growth every quarter for the last two years), they wouldn't be giving away everything under the sun either. They do it to spur growth, not because they're nice guys. You want a good example? Look at the beating Sprint took 3Q and look at the fact that they are no longer charging for 7pm N&W.

Most of the responses to the iPhone have to do with either:
1. The phones incapability's (lack of 3G, price, no insurance support, etc.)

2. The lawsuit filed against Apple over the name "iPhone".

Cingular may get a lot of sales out of the iPhone, but not enough to remain the leader. Nor will customers be leaving their current cell phone service provider to switch to Cingular and have to pay $599 for a phone that lacks in many areas.

T-mobile has My Favs

My last line is transfering over to Cingy in 10 days. For the past 7 months I have had both Cingy and Verizon and have noticed no differences with the carrier in regards to reception. I live in Western NY if anyone is wondering and Verizon is #1 up here in regards to users BUT...this trend is starting to change. I can go through Buffalo/Rochester and Syracuse and lose no signal BUT with my Verizon phone I lose signal through Rochester and Syracuse.

When I was able to make a call right after new years on my cingy phone but not my verizon all I could do was shake my head.

The exact reason why it was sold...piss poor management, bad service...whatever else BUT since Cingy has taken over and will become ATT here its gotten a lot better PERIOD..you will run into the morons no matter what company you deal with with customer care.

now that cingy doesnt have to deal with 5 different systems and combining the old ATT wireless over you will see them striving to enhance there 3g network, the introduction of the iphone and the easy use of combined billing...ATT has a lot going for it that many people will take advantage and use.

Alright so Txt did it for you...great.

Thats perfectly fine and I give Verizon the upper hand with the $5 unlimited in Txt packaging. Right now cingy has nothing.

The phones however are better with the Cingy lineup then what Verizon has. The Red UI with all there phones may be easy to use and function (BC every phone has the same design) but it gets old..just like moto and there razr designs. Bottom line here is that I give up paying $$$ if I want to try to customize anything on the phone, wallpaper, ringtones, graphics...the lockdown of the bluetooth for OBEX....come on Verizon!

Since I own the Sync and others I know first hand what does what...The sync doesnt even look like a PDA phone..its just an over optioned C417. Great screen...

Easy swapable sim cards if I want to change phones instead of calling up Verizon or praying to god online works...and then when I can Verizon up they ask my 20qs as to why I am doing this.

I heard VZW is now charging you if you call to change your plan to another ESN...

I heard the only free way to do it now is through the interent.
