AT&T iPhone?
Oh no! If cingular is going to rebranded; what consequences does this have for the iphone?
...
I would expect no affect on the iPhone or any other upcoming handset releases, except an 'at&t' logo.
Curious how intense the logistical planning has to be for such a rebranding effort (signage, new phones). It must help to have more than just a wireless unit to support the cost.

I was wondering the same thing because the new iphone is already branded with cingular.
...
Branded for service, but something tells me Apple managed to keep the carrier logo off of the phone. Kinda like the earlier RAZR phones.

theirs np i asked the same questionand the answer is it wont affect the phone they already said they would rename it in time for the due june to at&t
...
Well if you look closely on the at the pictures of the phone (when you click the full story link on the home page of phone scoop) you can actually see where it says cingular. The first picture at the top of the phone says cingular.

Those are just early prototypes... they can change the carrier logo to AT&T when they go into mass production.
...
That just indicates the carrier that it is using. I'm talking about having an actual logo printed on the front or the back of the handset like pretty much every other phone out there.
...
I beleive it was reported that there will be NO physical branding of the phone itself other than the provider name in the display (next to the signal indicator)
...
I think the cingular you see on the phone is the service connect you see on all phones when you nab a signal.

Obviously, since Cingular is being rebranded now, it would obviously stand to reason that 5 months from now, everything that's currently labelled Cingular will be labeled AT&T, including new phone launches.
I'm guessing the alpha tag (which is the network name indicator that you saw on the top of the iPhone screen, and on all phones) will change a lot sooner than that.
