Maybe they can keep him and made him blue or something.

ps Cingular Jack was one of the most successful logos in the world. It was readily recognized very soon after it was launched the world over. It was something like Apple computers logo. If they put jack in a commercial or print ad. they would not even have to spell out cingular. We will miss him.

That's very true. Cingular Jack successfully became the thirteenth most recognizable logo in the world in 2002, just two years after its debut.

Ummm Jack will be staying...you will start to see commercials in the rebranding process but the jack symbol will stay...Being that I do work for Cingy and have seen what will happen...and no I dont work for the over the counter retail store side either.

I personally can not stand the little guy but he does have brand name.

This is an obvious and good move with this merger in what they will and will not be doing...aka the combined color of blue and order with the slogan "The bar is raising higher" or has raised higher or what have you...its late and its trivial but I just wanted to let you know Jack is staying.

The death star logo is just, if not more, recognizable.

So long, Jack! We hardly knew ye. I'll miss him. Being a former Cingular customer service and sales rep, Jack was somewhat partial to me.

For some reason when I think of AT&T, I think of crap. I know it's different owners and service now. Let's just hope it stays far away from crap. I still haven't got used to AT&T in my local area for landline service. I still think of it as SBC, and even Southwestern Bell.

Oh well, just like in the song Tom Sawyer from Rush; "He knows changes aren't permanent. But change is."

DIE JACK DIE!!! It's time for Cingy to grow up. AT&T will help them do just that. It will be a good thing. And if your service still works for you, than STFU and be happy. Plain and simple. It's just a name change and you existing plans will be grandfathered. So stop acting like little stupid babies.

I wasn't crazy about Jack, but I have to say Cingular did a good job of positioning themselves as a much more hip provider then Verizon. Now they are going back to the ATT brand, which at least to me stands for a large stodgy company who when they were ATT Wireless had terrible service problems because they over subscribed people on their national program.
