There's a phone that's quadband GSM. . . touchscreen, PDA, with wifi. . . and its running the BEST F****** OPERATING SYSTEM EVER!! 🤤 😁

Nokia, I may have to leave you. 😢

. . . . now if it weren't a Cingular exclusive. . .

They shoulda gone the unlocked GSM route. 🙄

I wish they went the GSM unlocked route also as I have Tmo but Cingular paid a BOATLOAD of money for exclusivity.

You'll have to switch or wait and get one when it comes out for the Europe markets.

one of the key features- visual voicemail was designed for use on the cingular network so it won't work with any others

Or you'll have to wait until 2009 when it becomes available to other networks/companies/however Apple decides to do it.

what do u guys think about getting one of the euro versions? any chance of it working out over here? i have tmobile so i'm kind of hoping that's a possibily because there's no way i'm switching, too many bad experience's with ATT/Cingular. Rich, maybe u have an idea?

i have tmobile as well, but im going to bet that you use cingulars service a majority of the time your on your phone, at least i do, my sidekick and dash never say its on tmobile network, always on cingular where i live...so ill be happy switching cheaper data plan too...but no the phone is exclusive to cingular, im not sure what they will do when it goes to europe but thats in a year from now, and it may be region locked, apple is sneak they will put things in there that just locks your phone up of all applications until it detects your in the right service

well i'm in minnesota and t-mobile is actually fantastic here. the reception is great and the coverage has yet to disappoint me, i just know i need a new phone. right now i have the nokia 6133 and it's reception is mediocre. i had a dash for about 2 weeks and it really did work everywhere. i have to admit you're probably right, odds are i wont be able to get this phone anytime soon without switching, and thats not an option, my plan is waaaaay too good to switch. o well. maybe another version will come out soon that will allow me to use it. or maybe HTC will come out with something similar 😁

what plan do you have, i mean i thought this too but cingular's plans arent bad either, 900 min for 59 is not bad, its same on verizon, 600 is 39.99 for tmobile as well so its actually not bad, and Job's said they are working out a data plan specially for the iphone, im going to say its a $29 unlimited data/texting plan, sounds reasonable to me, maybe $39 at max with MMS but shouldnt topple that, thats about how much i pay for my tmobile for the same thing, cingular and t-mobile dont differ THAT much, youd prolly only pay about $10 more than what you have for the same thing, remember cingular and tmobile share A LOT of the towers because theyre both the only GSM, or the biggest GSM in US

There's got to be a way that this phone can be unlocked. There's no way Cingular can expect people to only use Cingular/AT&T wifi access points (which are paltry, and a rip off).

Also, this isn't a phone that is dripping with proprietary Cingular apps (does it even have Java?)- apart from preconfigured network settings, I could easily imagine this thing having no Cingular branding at all.
