Suggestion.
I feel that Cingular is indeed too strong of a name to kill. It's what the youth and upcoming markets are used to seeing. Even the older generations have likely grown accustomed to hearing Cingular commercials and relating it to the largest wireless company in the US.
However, I also feel that the AT&T name and logo is too strong of a brand not to utilize.
I would suggest that AT&T keep the Cingular name for personal wireless services while the AT&T Business Solutions name be adhered to the business side.
And while we're splitting the difference, would it not make more sense to include "part of the AT&T family" at the end of Cingular advertising. We've already seen it done in most of their print ads anyway. This would cut the cost o...

I agree. They built Cingular to be recognized nationwide and be a common name and now it is. To start that cycle over again would be pointless. Plus, I like "Cingular" better than AT&T or AT&T(whatever) 😎

I myself do agree with you,
I think that there will be mass confusion among the customers, i know if i were one, i would be kinda upset, after getting used to the cingular brand and trying to forget att wireless.
Now going back to ATT just makes no sense, just money down the drain after trying to rebrand att wireless into cingular.
thank you

Totally agree with you guys, total waste of time and money...and customers. This kind of behavior (back and forth) shows instability and lack of confidence. Why spent so many billions securing the name Cingular and now from all of sudden rename it after a failed brand. AT&T sunk and Cingular emerged....now lets kill Cingular, shoot Jack and let's bring back Oldsmobile....i mean AT&T 😡

Cingular is defininetly easier on the tongue. They should keep the Cingular name add "part of the AT&T family". Money saved on branding=money invested in fewer fewer dropped calls.

I like your suggestion. It makes sense, and there is so little of that around these boards.
