Cell phone advertising - a growing trend

I don't think anybody is surprised that Verizon is trying to rake in ad revenues via their network. But, if they would only come out with a cell phone interface that supports ads in a more compelling way, then they might actually be effective for marketers. Now, they're just annoying. When will the network operators focus on cell phone GUI - that's the way to improve consumer adoption of mobile services, including advertising.

Not to mention..that I was checking out Sprints phones..the most that could be considered ads are their content partners, like Sirius...which were txt links to the service..and was relevant.

(AKA goto music and theres the Sirius link)

other than that..i saw no other ads while browing on their phones. (Makes me think VZW is actually alone on this now...Sprint may have tried it in the past and decided against it.)
