MediaFLO Launch Imminent
Handsets?
Does this require handsets with tuners like DMB and the other Streaming TV technologies? I haven't seen any leaked products or heard of any MedioFlo handsets. Unless it's all IP and they do it via software, but I thought Qualcomm specifically built out a network on some spectrum for this which would mean it would require tuners in the handsets.

I could, but it's all in Korean. The last thing I saw was it might not be available for launch of MediaFLO, but the u620 should be OK. FCC has info the phone but no pics yet.

i work for a 3rd party retailer and i have talk to the lg rep and he told me that the lg vx 9900 will b e able to use mediaflo

I heard that rumor too, that there will be a software upgrade available for the 9900, but... as far as I know, the 9900 doesn't have the mediaflo chipset

Unless they come out with a new hardware revision of the 9900 there is no way that the 9900 it will work with MediaFlo. Also if you notice the first wave of MediaFlo handsets that come out all have an external or extendable antenna so again there is no way the 9900 would work since the antenna is internal.

Sprint is using MediaFLO and calling their service, "VUE"... so far Sprint has tested the Samsung m250 with their service.
