HP Launches Laptop with Tri-Band HSDPA

First to have it built-in? Doesn't DELL?

I just ordered a DELL D420 with the integrated Cingular card. What is the difference between the HP and DELL. Is it because the DELL is mini-PCI-e (not PCMCIA)?

I think the difference is tri-band HSDPA. The dell specs are quoted at:

Wireless:
Dell Wireless 5500 Mobile Broadband 3G HSDPA (Cingular US)

I think that's just dual band. I could be wrong though.

Indeed, the tri-band is for those globetrotters that are expecting UMTS/HSDPA in places like in Europe where they don't use UMTS/HSDPA on the North American 850/1900 frequencies. Over there, they use 2100, ergo tri-band HSDPA - 850/1900/2100.
