I'll believe it when I have a 7.2mbps aircard! ! !
Cingular doesn't seem to be the kind of company to jump ahead of the rest of the pack so fast like this. It's always been the case, at least so far, that Verizon does everythng first, navigation and video on phones have been available from Verizon for what, 18 months,. . .so I'd be extremeley surprised and impressed if Cingular actually jumped ahead of the rest of the pack like this.
But if they do, you can be, I'll be one of the first to order an aircard from Telesales, and I'll call Cox up and cancel my service, I'm currently getting 6mbps from Cox, which is great, BUT, it's not wireless.

Cingular was not able to get into the 3G game any sooner (unlike the other big boys) cuz of network integration was not complete. Now that it is, it's going to be a whole different game. You'll see...

Yeah, I guess you have a point, but wouldn't it makes sense to integrate it and upgrade it all at the same time. At least it does to me.

They did integrate and upgrade to HSDPA... The towers are ready... The only thing that's left to do is upgrade the switches to HSDPA.

um nextel was the first with navigation, then sprint, then verizon just lauched it a couple months ago.
Cox and comcast are nice speeds on wired, but 7.2mbps is highly unlikely because of the technology on the same voice tower. 1.8 mbps isnt achieved on evdo or HSDPA. average is 400-800.
wanna look into better speeds at longer ranges, look into wimax next year on sprint.
towers can go as long as 10-15 miles on range and sprint is going to launch this next year. average speed on wimax will be about 30-40mbps
