Verizon Will Stream YouTube Videos
"Select" videos?
So, who exactly "approves" which videos are available? The Government? Ms. Liang? What makes her (or Verizon) an expert on what has entertainment value? I should celebrate this?
Will Verizon be placing Parental Advisory stickers on their cell phones? Will the videos have little tiny ratings in the upper right corner?
Shame on you Verizon. Your "service" defeats the purpose of YouTube.
Watch.
Did Santa leave EVDO equipment at each one of vzw's cell sites so they can just give away free data? I don't see how this is a rip off.And for those of you who are complaining about "select" videos. I mean give me a break, do you actually think a smart large company will throw anything on their phones that is anything more than PG to PG-13. If you want something more graphic then use something that is not monitored by any goverment agency, ohh that would be the internet.
Don't you think shooting your own videos and uploading them from your phone to your own ...

This is NOT an extra charge, it's INCLUDED in the VCast package. Ok, it's $15 per month, that gives you unlimited Vcast, Mobile Web, A/T for GIN apps and GIN browsing.
Thanks for shedding light on that, I was under the impression all this time that the it was an *extra* charge, additional to the regular VCast thing.
I think people have every right to complain about the censorship, however. Yes, there's no question that these features are nice, but who the hell anointed Verizon as the morality police for us? I prefer my internet access (and yes, YouTube resides on the internet so that site is included) to be served up to me unfiltered so that *I* can decide which stuff I'll take and ...

If this content ended up on cell phones it would be lawsuits city against the cell phone companies. I'm not sure if you understand that people here like to SUE. If a big named cell phone company has this type of content on their phones then cash in America! The internet isn't policed by anyone so there is no one to ...

What is this, Communist Russia? We DO have a right to complain, to make our opinion heard, just as you have a right to try to refute our answers.

Your reasoning is faulty.
According to your logic, then that means corporations like Dell, HP Compaq, Sony (VAIO), Lenovo, Toshiba, etc...

i do agree that it would be a lot cooler if you had access to the entire youtube library, but that's a massive amount of content, it is possible that they are eventually going to open up the entire library to mobile users, IF this becomes a popular thing.
VCast IS NOT the internet.
If inappropriate material did show up, both youtube and verizon could be held accountable, which is why they are working together to select videos.
It also says the partnership may be the first of many. So if Sprint or Cingular work with youtube to only put select videos, does that make any better?
