This phone is a bit cheaper than the pdas and comes with a 2 megapixel autofocus camera and QVGA video. Some people don't need pda functions or don't want to pay out the ass for them but could appreciate a qwerty keyboard for texting and a high quality camera both for a cheaper price. I'm one of those people. I'm in college and if I want to look something up online, I could walk 10 feet to the nearest library instead of paying $10,000 to do it on my phone. And while I usually hate texting (especially with a non-qwerty keyboard) sometimes it's the only way you can communicate when you or a friend are in class.

I'm going to look into getting this phone. Still, camera quality is the most important thing to me so if it isn't sensitive to...

By the way, does anyone know if one would be able to save or transfer pictures or videos taken directly to a memory card so you could send them to your computer without having to use pix messages with VZW?

Besides this,
Can I access the memory card without taking it out of the phone? Can I use my bluetooth to listen to MP3s, and answer the phone?

I wish VZW would offer alternitives to their UI, and make the data plan a little cheaper, say, $20 per month, and add an FM radio. But, with the wap2 available, I could get a little excited about this phone.

Yeah. The standard UI might make them money for normal phones and normal cuztomers, but they keep losing us tech freak customers by not upgrading the UI on more expensive models.

Exactly. There's an assumption on McWireless's part that, a) people don't want to think, and b) that CHOICE is not part of what we pay for when we sign on for their expensive services (ie, data which is too expensive). If you're on this website, its understood that you probably want, along with a new phone, to enjoy all the benefits of the company that made the phone and spends their time thinking about how to make this technology better. Who would think of buying a Sony-Ericsson phone, for example, with this vzw UI. Its like buying a Ferrari body and sticking it on a a Chevy.
