I don't disagree with ya. HSDPA which is the equivalent to EVDO Rev. A is only in a few cities nationwide. Every carrier isn't going to have their latest technology in every single city. The only one that really does is Verizon and of course they rolled out their high speed data before anyone else. Also, with the HTC, I dunno. I've had a few Windows Mobile devices including an mp3 player that windows won't provide any updates for because the product isn't made anymore and they've moved on to WM 6. But I agree that there should be updates to the firmware and software to add the new services available even if it is the manufacturer that provides it. The carrier should push for the software update to be developed. There is an open SDK on the Instinct so that should help with 3rd party apps, hopefully Firefox 3 mobile that's in development or Skyfire, and hopefully make it easier to provide better updates to these phones.
