So what? Sprint's new TV service will offer twice the content, just like their Power Vision does. VCAST is lame...all you can do is video clips, no streaming music, no satellite music..boring. Then you have to deal with their universal interface which takes away alot of cool features embedded in their phones. All this combined with high data rates, limited bluetooth capabilities..leaving Verizon was the best thing I've done. Sprint has the best multimedia experience..hands down

Can you tell me, how is your coverage with Sprint? I live in NY and everyone I know who has it has problems/sounds underwater...? They're data plans are money for the money than Verizon for sure, which is one of the reasons I'm shopping around.

Dude verizon gives you better choices on your phones. Plus you pay for quality not quantity. The mobile web is only 5 bucks too. Plus with the data plans you can text to verizon customers for free. as long as its a $10 or more plan.

I have a treo so the mobile web thing doesn't cut it. Unlimited data is 45 frickin dollars a month. That's alot. T-mo and Sprint do it for much less....PLUS its another 15 for EVDO. My bills every month are crazy.

and better choices on phones than who? Please convince me to stay with Verizon cause I'm heading for the door. Here in NY T-Mo is making an enormous push.

like i said before man, your putting quanitity over quality. if your not looking for the best then leave, the grass is always greener on the other side right? You dont need the vcast so minus 15 dollars. And you need to relook up t-mobiles and sprints data plan again buddy 😛 its only a few bucks cheaper.

I'm glad to hear you're so strong on McWireless, bud (do you work for them?...cause I have questions) but T-mo will do unlimited data for 20bucks a month. Over half what Verizon charges. Plus Verizon has extra surcharges for some reason which I never understood. Yes, you are right the call quality is great and I'm probably spoiled cause the darn thing works everywhere. But that data charge is tough to swallow.

If you have a Treo, there is no reason you should have vcast on there-- the phone doesn't do Vcast.

The new ones do. So in considering re-upping a contract/upgrading device, that expense is a consideration.

Well you are totally wrong ther. None of the PDA's have vcast. also the Treo 650 is not even an EVDO devise. Before you talk trash you ought to get your facts straight.

Who should get their facts straight? Are you joking? The 700 Treos are EVDO compatible, as is the Q...as everyone who cares about this nonesense knows, so I am talking trash, as you say. Also, if you've been a customer of this company as long as I have, which I'm sure you haven't, that gives you a right to say whatever you want. And, yes, I know the 650 is not an EVDO device, the point is the next one I buy undoubtedly will be and to pay an extra $15 on top of $45 for unlimited access is completely outrageous. Basta.

Where are you getting your extra $15 a month from? $15 is for VCAST service but all the PDA phones (including Q) are NOT VCAST ready. That's what the other guy was trying to say.

I think you get it all confused.

What the guy said was the pdas aren't EVDO which is what I responded to. You telling me that EVDO is not $15 a month makes me happy because I got THAT info from one of the salespeople at the Verizon store...which is my other gripe with Verizon right now which is their customer service has plummeted. Now going into the store is a complete waste. I only deal with the people on the phone. So thanks for telling me that. You're obviously over qualified to be working for Verizon.

Verizon may have the coverage, they may have some awesome "looking" phones, they may have good customer service... but when it comes down to actually using the features on the phones, and what they can do media wise... they suck. Sprint kicks their butt in that Department, and T-Mobile is comming right up there soon.

Guys here are some facts. First off Sprint can roam on Verizon's network for free with the roaming setting. I can even set it so it ONLY picks up Verizon's signal. So you get the power of 2 networks. Second for $39 a month you can take any power vision phone and use it as a high speed modem for you laptop or PDA via bluetooth. You can't do that with Verizon since they restrict their handsets. Also Sprint now covers more areas in EVDO then Verizon and also is the first to deploy EVDO REV A..the fastest mobile broadband connection. Then you get to Verizons plans..they are the most expensive in the industry with the highest overage costs. I had Verizon and was so glad when I dumped them for Sprint. I get much more for my money, the bes...

Guys guys let's make sure we are talking facts here. Yes Sprint can roam on the VZW network and vice versa, however currently only voice and 1X data service is available for roamers. EVDO roaming is currently still in its infancy. So not quite the dual network power you were hoping for yet. Most of the VZW mid to high end phones support the DUN profile and can function as modems for your laptop provided you have a data plan. I for one have a Q and it works great. I can't speak for all of their phones though. As far as coverage goes I know enough to say that the lead in POP coverage changes almost weekly. I wouldn't lay too much value in what any carrier says at any given time about who has the largest network, fewest dropped calls, most powe...

Apparently I'm not the only one blogging about Verizon's crappy data. Great comments Sprint Guy James !! You Verizonites just don't get it. I'm so glad you like your customer service and whey you call in the Verizon robots are SOOO nice to you. Facts remain several consumers could switch to Sprint right now and notice very little difference in coverage, pay less for your service and get more from it (especially data). Take your universal interface and technology limiting techniques and enjoy getting less !! I'd take Cingular way before any Verizon service. Also, there are plenty of areas where Sprint works and Verizon does not..it's all relative. My point being..in major areas where Sprint and Verizon have good coverage, Sprint wins ...
