Cingular To Launch Mobile Banking Next Year

I have always thought that somethinglike this would be a useful feature...

... but the security issues would keep it from happening... we'll see how Cingular handles this...

I've been doing this for at least 2 years now. I'm also curious what Cingular will do with the idea. I'm guessing some form of general Java app or similar with security features customizable by the user.

Even with all the security issues it presents this is the future along with mobile TV and everything else.

I don't doubt this. The U.S. isn't on the forefront of mobile communications. Thinking back, just 4 years ago, GSM covered a good portion of the populated areas of the planet, and the U.S. was first getting rurual coverage of GSM.

It's because the U.S. goes upgrade after upgrade after upgrade more than some of the other countries do. It's easier to start HSDPA from scratch than got AMPS to TDMA to GSM to UMTS to HSDPA.

The U.S. still mandates the use of AMPS that was launched in 1983...
