"Sprint will initially roll out the hybrid service and ic502 phone in Baltimore, Boston, Central and Southern Jersey, Delaware, East Michigan, Jacksonville, LA Metro, Long Island, Miami/West Palm, New York City, Northern and Southern Connecticut, Northern Jersey, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia Metro, Providence, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Diego, Southwest Florida, Tampa, Toledo, and Washington DC. Other markets will come in 2007. The phones will work nationwide, of course; you just won't be able to buy them everywhere. Service plans will look like existing Nextel plans, with new $5-per-month unlimited Sprint mobile-to-mobile and $15-per-month Sprint Vision optional add-ons."

Sprint is in the process of merging the two account maintainence and billing systems, once that's done we're supposed to be able to. But to answer the question, at this point in time, the hybrid is for Nextel accounts so you'd have to wwait until the merge is done.

My understanding is that if you want to use the hybrid on the family plan, all other lines on the family plan must also be hybrid phones. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It is impossible to sit here are try to figure out the logistics of how the hybrids will work on a family plan The merger hasn't even finished and the logistics will likely change more and more the closer they get to fully integrating the hybrids on the network. It will take more time due to the fact that the billing systems and customer service reps are still bouncing back and forth from P2K and Nextel's systems. I think it will take more time before we know that anything is set in stone.

As a Sprint/Nextel retailer, I am provided with training and launch information provided by Sprint in order to properly sell this new product. My answer is not based on speculation. If you have a different view of the information please let me know.

"The Sprint Nextel Hybrid Phone cannot share minutes with Sprint PCS or Nextel phones on different rate plans."

So yes, you are 100% correct.
