Just thought I'd share my experience so far:
First of all, if you have bad credit, Helio might be the carrier for you. I tried ordering online but after the credit check finished, it said they could not extend credit to me at this time. I was bummed so I called their customer service to see if there was anything they could do about it. The guy was totally like -- hey buddy, no problem! He told me that if you refuse to give them your SSN, they can't (or typically don't) deny you credit. He was able to get all my info from the web order I had just put in and override the credit thing.
Needless to say, I was pretty psyched at that point since I usually have to put down a deposit since my credit sucks. Anyway, once everything was confirmed...
