Verizon To Get Another High End Motorola
STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT UNIFORM UI
Motorola phones have had the same UI for what seems like the last decade....
So whether it is a Verizon phone or not... You still have to deal with Uniform UI from the manufacturer... on every single phone until they change it!!!!
THE ONLY THING I do NOT like about Verizon's UI is the crippling of the OBEX... other than that... who cares if its a uniform UI from VZW or from MOTO???
just my opinion but I know ppl will jump on this now... 🤨

Nokia offers at least 2 - series 40 and s60 (not to mention series 80 which they dropped. Moto offers WinMo also. Moto's 'synergy' or whatever it's called, has only been around since the t720, not 10 yrs.
The point is some actually like Moto's UI (fools, iknow - but i'm one of 'em), while others prefer s60, others series 40, or some like LG/Samsung which are very similar. This is a choice NOT available to vzw customers. Choice, remember that? Some ppl don't need the consistency vzw...

My point is MOST UIs used by manufacturers are used on many other phones as well, this IMO is also uniformity... 😛
At leaset they're (VZW) making strives by using the customizable flash UI on the newer LG phones...

this is NOT uniformity. different manufacturers have different UI's, even if all Moto's have the same UI - that UI is DIFFERENT from all of the Nokias, whose UI is DIFFERENT from SE, etc.
Uniformity is picking up a Nokia, Moto, LG, and seeing the same UI. I like Moto's UI, I like Nokia's UI (both of them), AND i like SE. i appreciate the differences, and acknowledge that each has its own strengths/weaknesses better suited for different people.
I used to work for Cingular. When a new phone would come in I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and play with it. Always so cool and amazing in their own way.
Then I worked for Best Buy (Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile). Same thing there. So many phones.
Now, I work for VZW. And with the standardized UI all the fun has been taken out of it. It just seems like the same old crap in a different package.

But see thats the thing VZW doesn't have a uniformed UI(they have two) Only the new LGs use the flash UI all the other phones have the non flash UI which is very buggy and slow.
In my opinion I think VZW has crippled all of its phones for almost the past year. Users with VZW UI(non flash) have handsets with limited functionality, slowed response, & poor battery life.
The flash UI is a better step in the right direction but VZW took this step way too soon and as consumers our experiences with our phones have suffered.
I have always been a fan of Motorola phones(mainly do to the UI) now w...

Am I the only one who's forgetting the root of this technology? ITS A PHONE. Who cares if you can change/not change the UI -- ITS A COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES TO VERBALLY ASSAULT PEOPLE WITH! I dont see the big deal with Verizon's UI other than a bunch of people who have too much time on their hands and enjoy complaining. If it makes the call, what else matters??
What else matters is that with that Verizon UI the signal strenght is alot less. I was a Verizon customer for years 10 to be exact i never had a problem in that time frame till i went to the razor when it came out, after 4 phones of missing calls, dropped calls, they gave me a choice of a new phone. I then chose the v9800. same ...

You know you should have a basis of comparison before making a statement like that, like Compare the VZW RAZR with VZW UI and the VZW RAZR with an Alltel Flash for Moto's UI.... To say that the UI affect RF is crazy
At least the time doesn't lag on the the Alltel version of the RAZR plus it has better battery life and yes I can say that the RF is better. well I can say the RF bars on the phone are much more acurate
If they hadn't disabled stuff, it would help but it would still not be as good as an UI as the Moto UI.
If they had as good of a UI as the Moto UI then I don't think people would be complaining about it.
Btw, we do have a right to complain. And if you HATE VZW's UI as much as I do, than you should complain. You should send a letter of complaint or complain at http://www.planetfeedback.com/
Lastly, you should VOTE with your wallet. I know this will be the LAST phone I have with a VZW UI. I am leaving at the end of my contract. Thank GOD I only signed for 1 year.

It is not Verizon's fault that all the trend junkies had to get the razr before finding out that it was no good. That is what the 15 day return policy is all about.
It is their fault when VZW limits the functionality of the phone by throwing there horrible UI on it. The RAZR is a great phone when using the Moto UI. its fast, responsive, good battery life, & very customizable. just look at the Alltel version its the "EXACT" same phone the hardware is identical, yet the VZW phone lacks in so many different ways.
15 day return policy is all well and good but still doesn't help tech users that just want a phone that is made the way the manufacturer intended it with out VZW metaling with ...

I don't like the UI either. I don't like the phone selection either. I think Verizon could be fantastic, but they seem to be playing a waiting game to maximize profit and control. So, they leak little pieces of technology just to keep up. Given the huge number of customers, I am not sure that free enterprise will ever correct the problems. Besides, all of the other carriers have some issue that bugs me. I really like teckie phones, but the result is, I will just keep the one I have until Verizon offers something as good as the Sony 810 (I think that is it). THey could at least let us have a better PIM on their phones. At least the WAP2 works well where I live.
