Seriously. Verizon has awesome marketing, awesome coverage, awesome phones now. Sure, there are some nice things about cingular, t-mobile, sprint, but I think Verizon is going to be #1 again if they keep this up.

once that happens, cingular will probably try to find someone else to buy so they can keep saying their number one. 🤣

Awesome phones, horrible user inter face, disabling phones functionality. Who cares how cool the phone is if the fuctionality of the phone has been killed be with their VZW UI crap.

Add to it customer service reps that barely know how to even answer the call and don't know crap when they do.

Number 1???? Right???

Please read the AWS article on the phonescoop news page. Cingular did not merge with ATT just for numbers alone, They needed spectrum that way they could stay competitive. The addition customers was a bonus

of course there were technical reasons too, but you can't tell me that they haven't loved being "number one", and thrown that around all over the place. 🙄

the thing is, hp did the same thing to try to stop dell, by buying compaq. however, now hp+compaq is smaller than dell, because regardless of what people say, dell is obviously doing something right in customer service/marketing/pricing or something.

whether we are talking spectrum or subscribers, cingular bought att to try to stay on top. and verizon gets closer to dethroning them every day, to regain the #1 spot it formerly held. some companies are just destined to be industry leaders.

i'm not saying cingular sucks. i am not even saying that i wouldn't use cingular. i...

verizon is already #1. only reason cingular has a bigger number customers is because of the merge. no other reason

#1 based on what?

Total customer? No.

Total number of towers? No again.

Total coverage? Still no.

The "Best Network" (as determined by their own tests)? That must be it.

Seriously dude, stop drinking the kool-aid.

Total Customers : Subtract Cingular's prepaid and VZW has more.

Towers : CDMA Towers handle more calls than GSM towers

Coverage : Verizon covers the most population

Network : Everyone says they have the best network. Now T-Mo is saying they have the fewest dropped calls..whos believes that?

VERIZON HAS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CHURN OVER EVERYONE. IF YOU LOOK AT ANY NUMBERS OF THE CELL PHONE CARRIERS VERIZON KEEPS RISING WITH NEW ACTS VERSUS LOSING CUSTOMERS TO OTHER COMPANIES. THAT THERE ALONE WOULD MAKE THEM NUMBER ONE TO ME IF YOU DO THAT FOR THE LAST THREE QUARTERS. ALSO HAVEN'T HEARD MUCH ABOUT HOW MANY CUSTOMERS CINGY HAS LATELY BUT VERIZON IS UP TO 54 MILLION!

Verizon and Verizon Wireless are two completely different companies. They don't share the same customers nor do they count their DSL or home phone services towards that amount. Verizon Wireless does have 54.8 million customers. 😎

omg its a cell phone provider why do you guys get so upset? To each there own. who cares who has the most people as long as the phone works. I had Verizon for 8 years and i just made a huge decision to switch to Cingular. I was not sure i wanted to cause i was with verizon for so long. But let me tell you it was the best thing i did. You can take your Verizon phone to downtown Buffalo to the bars and your phone does not work inside the bars, But with my cingular i have full power. I could careless how many people Cingular has or who's number one all i care about is a cell phone that works where and when i need it to.

BTW, yes verizon does have a less turn over rate then anyone else thats cause they lock you into 2 years with new every 2 ...
