Is this like old analog TV broadcast where anybody who has an antenna can pick up the signal. I guess what Im getting at is, anybody with this feature on their phone can get the signal for free. Or is Sprint going to make you sign up for the service if you buy a compatable phone. I wondering how they are going to stop third party companies from making portable TV players to tap into the signal

I think its going to be IP based. Just like V-cast service. Its not broadcast, its Datacast.

"The service is not a user-selected download or stream like Sprint TV. Instead it is a set of digital TV channels transmitted over a frequency separate from Sprint's cellular spectrum which a user can tune into."

See bolded.

Are you english or retarded? what did any of that mean? Please try again. If you speak a foreign language I think an online translator would do a better job than the crap you just came up with. Maybe you're a Mountaineers fan, who knows?

I can't fathom why anyone would want to leave sprint because they added a service that you don't have to pay for. If you don't wnat it just don't add it to your bill. It's not a reason to get all emotional and switch carriers, it was a test of a service anyways.

"you just at dumb" Do you mean, "You ARE just A dumb?" Calling people idiots and dumb and can't even speak English seems pretty retarded to me. I went to Sprint because I wanted to and haven't had any problems with them for the 5+ years I have been with them, not a credit issue. Quit humping your hermaphrodite siblings you inbred moron.

Do you not have sprint because you couldn't spell your name on the contract or did you just not sign it in the right spot and they tore it up in front of you?

I'm glad I grew up in a home with a mom and a dad not a mom/sister and a dad/uncle otherwise I'd probably have a tough time with something as simple as speaking, too.

Since it's supposed to be a digital signal, it's not going to be like analog! 🙂 Meaning, it will be restricted for reception. It's not going over standard DTV frequencies. I'm sure there are plenty of restrictions in place, such as signal encoding/decoding & scrambling/descrambling.

A third party app created to do that, would be like (in the past) someone using a descrambler on a satellite signal or something to compromise a cable filter.

The way I understand it your phone has to authenticate itself on the carriers network and will be assigned a "key" that will allow it to decode the MediaFlo signal. So it isn't enough that you just have a MediaFlo enabled phone, they are gonna make you pay extra to recieve the broadcasts.

Ah that makes sense. This new broadcast TV seems a lot better to me than have to load the ABC news stream to see whats on it. I can't wait to just flip through channels on my phone.
