why would the fcc be fighting this so much if there wasn't something wrong to begin with? i hope they stick one to the greedy wireless industry. 😁 👀

Maybe for the same reason why the FCC is trying to assume the authority to decide what is or isn't "decent." They seem to like having power. The psychology of that will always be open to interpretation, but it's not a new behavior for the FCC.

They're fighting because they're scared the States will take away their precious, ridiculous tax revenue.

This has nothing to do with the taxes themselves. That is not what is being fought over. This is about how the taxes are being presented on the bill. It is not pro- or against the wireless industry.

But wouldn't this give the states more power on regulating the bill and in turn maybe give the states more power to fee it to death instead of the FCC? ie: 911 fee, nontranferrable transfer fees, out of state local tax...only a few.
