So, this means Tmob's 3g handsets will be 1700mhz ready, but will also include 1900mhz and 850mhz for voice?

I am making sense, right?

well they should include 850/1900 for 3g voice and data. unlike cdma, 3G umts includes both voice and data. so when tmo's new network rolls out, new handsets will be able to use umts 1700 for voice and data if 3G is available.

Yeah, it's the same way that we will be able to piggyback our signal off the @ home box with the correct handset. I think it's all one signal. What they should do is include the other spectrums just in case the 3G goes down or whatever, we wont be stuck with a bunk phone. Very exicting though.

Unfortunately [in the US] I think they rather have you stuck with a bunk phones so you have to keep buying new ones.

Mant other places in the world, like Europe and Asia for example, give you real deals on a new phone after your contract [of 1 or 2 years] runs out.

Anything to get more money from the consumer 😢

FYI, handsets are one thing T-Mob knows they loose money on, they are cool on it as long as accesories and feature sales are up!
I'm fine paying money for handsets. I'm not one of this people who want a phone for 99 cents. Heck the last 3 phones I bought I did so unlocked for $300-$500 each.

If TMo can knock $100 off that price I'm still winning. I have been with them for 6 years now and I'm only frustrated with that part of them. I just want TMo to get a de...
