SBC purchased AT&T. They renamed themselves AT&T. Cingular is still owned (60%) by the same comepany that has always owned them, SBC = AT&T. The name change just led to speculation that Cingular would change their name back to AT&T Wirelss. Only idiots who have no idea what is going on would actually post something stating that there was going to be a name change as fact. AT&T (landline) and Cingular (Wireless) are still seperate divisons and there names will not be uniform. In fact, some Cingular stores (in select markets) sell AT&T landline services.

and if you knew what you were talking about, you would know that the company will be chaning back to the name ATT at a future time, there are still discussions to when this transtion will take place.
