😁 Ok people...here is how this works. On the single line plans if you want the MyFaves...it will be $10 more....such as the 39.99 gets you 600 min with unlimited nights/weekends...well for 39.99 on my faves...will get you 300 minutes with the unlimited nights/weekends...so just start at the bottom and at $10 for the MyFaves. It will also work on the family plans BUT...no unlimited M2M...if you want that it will be an extra $9.99 for the account and will cover up to 5 lines. The 5 can be changed every month and will not do 800/900/ or international #'s. You HAVE to get a MyFaves phone for this to work...which to me kinda does screw the customer who has a good old phone. The Pearl is a myFaves but some good data phones are not. To me th...

So, in other words, it sounds like they didn't really do too good of a job in trying to compete with Alltel's My Circle plan -- www.alltelcircle.com

For a good laugh, on the AlltelCircle site, click on the T-Mobile guy (far right) in the website header.

With Alltel, the minimum price plan is 59.99/month so T-Mobile is cheaper, if you want to change the numbers w/ Alltel you have to call their customer service but w/ T-Mobile's you can do it from the web or the handset, Alltel doesn't provide service in as many States and Alltel is CDMA so your handset won't work overseas.
I think that's a pretty good job at competing.

1. with alltel, you can change your numbers online - AND you can change them as many times as you want (vs. tmobile's once a month)

2. yeah plans have to be $59.99, but tmobile now doesn't include mobile to mobile (which alltel does), and is giving you the same minutes for $10 more. so for example, on a family plan of 4, if you want to call the other 3 people, they have to be in your myfaves numbers, thus only leaving you 2 real slots.

3. being a GSM carrier over CDMA isn't an example of competition.

Well according to another post here... Each line on a T-Mobile family plan gets 5 unique MyFaves numbers whereas with Alltel "all the lines on your account would share the 10 Circle numbers"...So T-Mobile has at least one thing up on Alltel...

Very true, and as an add to my previous post:
GSM vs. CDMA may not be competition but it is convenience; I go to Europe twice a year and I love not having to rent or buy a phone to use my service while I'm there.
T-Mobile doesn't include Mobile2mobile but you can add it for $6.99/month which makes the minimum plan $46.98/month, still less than Alltel's and finally; all of my friends/family live in Oregon, California, Wyoming, Colorado and Indiana. Alltel doesn't provide service in those States so they're not an option for us. We'll stick with T-Mobile.

Who cares about alltel? T-Mobile is competing with Sprint, Verizon, and cingular.

First, You need to stop hating on T-Mobile. Second, T-Mobile is better since they are selling the service on a "National" foot print, unlike Alltel with the regional foot print. So stop trying to bring down T-Mobile, if you don't like them, stop reading about them. You can't use Alltel nationwide.

I just don't see the sense in this plan if you lose the M2M minutues in order to get the faves. And the once a month limit to change numbers is real downer.

The article says you have to use the application on the phone to change favorites as well as contact them. So you're dialing through the application instead of using the keypad? Is this a form of VOIP?

The aplication just "speed dials" the number for you, it's not Voip. But, watch for T-Mobile's UMA offerings in the next few months and that is a form of Voip.

Personally I dont care as long as you have the box, everything that came with the phone and the phone doesnt look like its been placed in a blender
