There are numerous mobile phones out there that have the 850 band, and haven't reached Cingular, it would be nice IF it was a safe assumption to think if a handset was 850 equipped that Cingular would pick it up, but Cingular doesn't want to impress any of us!!!

I'm sure there is a LOT of politics that go into releasing a phone. On the SE side, I wouldn't be surprised that if you want phone A, you have to also buy Phone Z. On the Cingular side, Cingular probably tells the manufacturer that before we sell your phone, we want it loaded with with our logos, ringtones, disabled features, sim locks etc...
As long as they make quad band, or triband with 850mhz band, I'll stick with UNLOCKED/BRANDED
wireless phones. Much less hassle!

Actually I have a Unlocked phone myself, that I use on Cingular's network, it's a Tri-Band, the Sharp V903, I have this phone because my standards are way, way, way too high for U.S. cell phones, I mean this is almost October of 2006 already and Cingular STILL doesn't have a 2mp camera phone, and mine is a 3.2mp camera phone, I just don't have the patience for this crap, . . .so that's why I went with unlocked because Cingular doesn't have anything sophisticated, or inovative to offer me, at least not right now.

How do you feel about the Nokia N95?
...
Absolutley awesome mobile phone, I'm just dumb founded as to WHY Nokia continues, and continues to not include quad band on they're N series handsets, especially the N91/N92, and N95!!!!!!!!
Probably tooooooo sophisticated for U.S. carriers, like most mobiles that are worth having! ! ! ! !
Really, Nokia's N series handsets is all Nokia makes that impresses me, outside of that, I think Motorola oughta be #1! ! ! ! ! ! !
