Mobile ESPN, AKA a thorn in my behind. I am a Account rep for Cingular working with BestBuy. Let me tell you Mobile Espn also known a Mobile sprint POS had the most unprofessional reps I've ever encountered. Working with the BB employees frequently I discovered they hated selling ESPN because it was such a hassle to activate. They do have tight phones with fast connections, but hey they must have realized Cingy will be the fastest-est network once their 3.5g is in place.

until sprint comes out with true 4G. which would probably be at the same time shingy pulles out the weak 3.5G. im not saying sprint is the best, because as of right now, they are crappy with the plans. i wasnt happy when they decided to change all the plans around and **** up the upgrade program. those pricks!

Cingular has 15 markets where 3g is covered. Sprint has 113 EVDO markets while Verizon has 63. Hmmm....Cingular will have the "fastest-est 3.5g network in place". BUT WITH NO FREAKIN' COVERAGE WHATSOEVER!!! What's the point?

Your right only 15 markets with 3G not 3.5g which WILL be faster than EVDO. The launch was supposed to happen this month but got pushed back till November. Even though the best network in this country pushed their hotness network back it is still coming out with ample amount of time for the best sales time of the year for cell phones. CHRISTMAS.
P.S. Everyone~ GSM is the almighty CDMA is simply inferior!!!!!!!!!! 😳

If it's SO ALMIGHTY!!! How come there is so many people on CDMA???

CINGULAR will always have crappy service NO MATTER what anyone says.

PUSHED BACK just like their customer satisfaction. Half of the people on Cingular use them for Internetional purposes or their employers get them a Cingular handset.

Ya know... I don't remember reading anything about GSM or CDMA in the title or body of this news... so take the argument to the cingular forum, this is absurd!

Well lets think about it. hmmm! CDMA was the only option we had in this country for quit some time. So thats probably where their huge customer base came from. 😉

I did think about it, heres my question. What exactly are you talking about? At no time was CDMA the only option. It was one of four. standards.

CDMA
TDMA
AMPS
IDEN.

So if 57 million ignorant idiots jumped of a really tall bridge would you?

Just because there's a lot of people using it doesn't make it the best.

Sprint has the fastest most available data network now. Sprint will still have that once 4g comes out. Also, they annouced the EVDO rev.A to be released 1Q07, but it was pushed FORWARD to 4Q06.

Cingy's trying ever so hard to compete, and keep the churn rate down. So far it seems to be working, at least that's what the marketing teams are saying.
It won't last though, Cingular used to have leaps and bounds of customers above the others, right after the AT&T thing, but now, they're only a few million above Verizon and Sprint. They still lost 1.25 million or so customers last year, where...

So how many more with 3.5g? Another 15 perhaps? Maybe 16, 17, 18, or 113? Yeah right...give it a rest. Cingular 3/3.5g is so far behind in coverage terms that it'll take them at least 3-5 years to maybe get to half of Sprint's coverage. What business owner would seriously even think of using Cingular for their high speed wireless data access? With Cingular you get 3g in one city and in the next hundred cities 2.5G. And if you're lucky (sarcasm) good ol' GPRS. I'm assuming the only reason why Mobile ESPN is on the Sprint network in the first place is because of the availability of EVDO networks ALREADY in place. Cingular is so late to the game. Maybe in a few years we'll see but as of now I'll pass.

I think some of the people here are funny. Some jazz me for even talking about cingy in a "Mobile ESPN" forum others try their speculation with me. I am an account rep for cingy. I have weekly conference calls with executives at cingular, trust me folks 3.5g is coming and coming fast. It is most definitely not 3-5 years away. Once we come out with this amazing and Superior data network all you haters can eat your hat. Cingular always and forever!!!!!!!!!!!

🙄 Ok...in the words of Jerry McGuire.."SHOW ME THE MONEY!!" ROLL OVER is a crock and so is the LG CU500 and the Samsung ZX20. Oh yeah...Cingular....we buy out companies then screw the old customers...but wait...we brought back AT&T...and might waste another $250 million to rebrand!! I could care less...this is about an ESPN...good idea...but did not take off...though will give credit about the Sanyo-9000....Sprint customers were pissed when it left like the Samsung A940. Well back to Helio, and Disney...lets see who will be around!!

how old are you a$$-rapists who call it "Cingy." Grow up. The only group of clowns that nickname their cell provider. "I have Sprinty. hehehehe..." (in a mocking girly voice) sub in v-zon or whatever other stupid crap you can come up with. Oh forgot "T-Mo. Hey, it rhymes with Tivo. hehehehe."
