Your right only 15 markets with 3G not 3.5g which WILL be faster than EVDO. The launch was supposed to happen this month but got pushed back till November. Even though the best network in this country pushed their hotness network back it is still coming out with ample amount of time for the best sales time of the year for cell phones. CHRISTMAS.

Sprint has the fastest most available data network now. Sprint will still have that once 4g comes out. Also, they annouced the EVDO rev.A to be released 1Q07, but it was pushed FORWARD to 4Q06.
Cingy's trying ever so hard to compete, and keep the churn rate down. So far it seems to be working, at least that's what the marketing teams are saying.
It won't last though, Cingular used to have leaps and bounds of customers above the others, right after the AT&T thing, but now, they're only a few million above Verizon and Sprint. They still lost 1.25 million or so customers last year, where...

what makes umts/hsdpa a "3Gish" network? how many retail subscribers did sprint and cingular get last quarter? you cant just look at one part of a business such as the 3G , you need to look at it as a whole, whoever has the best well rounded business wins the most customers. again this is my opinion, which is what im entitled to so flaming me is only a waste of your time. yea verizon is catching up to cingy with 1.8 mil adds last quarter, could be where their 3G network is more pronounced but could be where they may have a better rep in some areas. its never too late for a business to(attempt) improve its business metrics.
