They always do this why does sony/ericsson always make the phones look the same, not even fashionable.

I've always thought Sony/Ericsson phones to be stylish in an industrial sense...but will they address the reception problem? I've never known a Sony/Ericsson phone to have good reception...something keeping me from buying one.

I agree, Sony Ericsson phones are built on a very unique platform. A platform that is now being mirrored by Motorola’s release of the E680, E398, and C650 (New Music Phones). In response to reception they harness technology that is the median of the industry. And technically speaking is comparable to most other manufacturers.

😕 I agree with you all. Sony Ericsson comes out with some good phones, but they all have that issue of dropping signal etc. I'm very displeased with Sony Ericsson for this mirror copy of the NTT DoCoMo SO505i/S. This in my vision is Sony's last desperate call to make a good phone. Personally I am much more attracted to the SO505iS because of it's features, style and everything else that makes it a genuine NTT DoCoMo handset. This Sony Ericsson is a shoddy chop off the DoCoMo. This drives me up the wall because I think that if they want to make a mirror phone then they should keep the same technology and style going. Not take important parts away like the Ir that also acts like a universal converter and the 16X digital zoom instead of 8X ...

🤣
This is such a silly message! Why would SonyEricsson not be able to make this new phone work when they were the ones that made the DoCoMo phone in the first place?! Since they are the makers of the SO505i, don't you think it would be simple for them to come out with an upgraded, GSM version of the phone?

*shakes his head* Do your research. NTT DoCoMo is a cellular maker, Sony was just the one that took the phone and put it under their name to sell it. Just like some Toshiba phones that are under the Audiovox name.

*shakes his head* No, you do your research. NTT DoCoMo is a mobile phone provider just like Cingular, Vodaphone, AWS, etc. THEY DON'T MAKE MOBILE PHONES! SonyEricsson is a mobile phone maker who designed, patented and manufactured the 505i under the DoCoMo name. Unlike the other Providers in the world, DoCoMo likes to have their branding as the main brand on the phone in order to futher their name. How do I know all this? I work for SEM.

Then if you work for SEM answer me this? Why would SE take the idea of the SO505i and SO505iS and come midway with Sony Software to make a downgraded phone without the dual speaker system and half the options of the overseas phones? hmm.... makes me wonder why they would. Personally Ericsson was a good phone until they ran into Sony. After all of that I find that they're quality has been downgraded and they've been trying to copy everyone else to keep up. But that's just how I see it.

I still don't understand what you mean by us copying the SO505i. We designed the original phone so for us it's not a copy at all but an upgrade. I obviously can't speak in detail about what will be offered with this phone or any other phone for that matter but having come from the Ericsson world, I can honestly say that our phones today are more innovative, stylish and world class than ever before. As a matter of fact, the T610 just won the Technology Innovation Award at the 3GSM Conference! That is something we never did in the Ericsson days.

😕 okay.. first off.. I find that the DoCoMo had nicer lines to it not to mention an nicer navigation of menus etc. This new model looks dorky if I might say so. If you were upgrading the replica of the SO505i then why would you possibly want to put it in between the 505i and the 505iS? The fact that now the camera is visible takes away from the "spy" aspect of the camera which made it look good yet misterious. I find that the new navigational menus are awful for all of the SE's with the joystick maneuvre. Not to mention i'm a Nokia/Sony/Panasonic/Ericsson (GSM) [The TDMA handsets were the worst] fan. I currently have my Panasonic GD55 which is being upgraded to the G51. I don't understand why Sony had to complicate the old "send" and "...

I'm sorry. Even if everyone is getting bad reception of the t610 or any sony phone they are not unstylish. I have received more complements on my t68i and t610 than any other phones i've had. I would buy any of these new phones if they were available today. I think they are incredibly stylish. In fact i've never seen a nicer looking phone that the k700.
