What about Pantech making phones for the US CDMA Market for Nokia...Is this going to affect that agreement at all or is Pantech going to make phones for both UT Starcomm AND Nokia?

those phones are not true nokias anyway, just a pathetic attempt by nokia to keep their brand name in the cdma market for the time being. I like Nokia, but I want a nokia, not a ut starcom or a pantech with the nokia name on it, not the same thing in my opinion. On top of that pantech's shady build quality will drop even more if ut starcomm(audiovox :roll🙂 starts making their phones again. I myself am staying away from these products, now if nokia releases a true cdma phone, like the 6265i then i might take another look at them, but don't see Verizon allowing that to happen.

I wonder if this article wasn't just mis-interpreted? Maybe it could be Pantech is the exclusive manufacturer of UT Starcom CDMA handsets. Because I also thought they were under contract with Nokia to make at least one more CDMA phone. And with Nokia not wanting to invest in building their own CDMA phones, they need someone to make them. I would think Nokia would be willing to pay more than UT Starcom, as Nokia really can't afford to lose prescence in the US CDMA biz. Their US market share is piss poor (because most of their mainstream products have piss poor design) and not being involved in CDMA will make it even worse.
