There is no directional pad on the phone and no Arrow keys on the keyboard? Is that weird, or is it just me?

I'm betting the numeric keys work as the d-pad unless you're in the phone application.

And it's definitely not a touch screen. Look at the buttons, that's clearly WM5 Smartphone Edition, not PocketPC. And Smartphone doesn't support touch screens.

Actually your wrong on this. If you look at the screen it's more clearly that its WM5 Pocket PC edition. THe start menu is at the top and the interface has a higher resolution that it would have if it was smartphone. This is clearly WM5

Roc on HoFo says its a smartphone. Anyone who visits HoFo regularly will know that Roc knows his stuff.

Ok that's cool but by the picture it shows WM5 Pocket PC since the start buttion is at the top of the screen. Usually for smartphone the start button is at the bottom of the screen. So I don't know if the picture is wrong or the smartphone version of WM5 has changed. Just looks like WM5 Pockent PC version from the pics.

This has been a huge debate about the Libra. The back/forward buttons indicate smartphone, but the screen does look PPC. However a document that you can see on HoFo shows the model for the Libra has "SP" in it which has been interpreted as smartphone. Also the screens on devices like that are usually just pasted onto a picture of the device so the pic may be an error. Then again maybe this is a new hybrid style device that tries to bridge the gap.

They never show a photograph of a screen in marketing materials because it gets dark from odd angles and can reflect. Instead, they superimpose a screen capture onto the space the real screen occupies. It looks like someone just pasted the wrong screen on there. It happened with some early HTC StrTrk pictures, too ( http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_d etail&t=news&id=3724 ). Still, the hardware buttons don't lie and that's a WM5 Smartphone Edition.

I wouldn't bet on it not being touch screen even if it is windows mobile 5.

The treo 700w has windows mobile 5 with a 240x240 resolution and is touch screen.

I am concerned that there is no directional pad though.

I hope it doesn't have a jog dial.

If it is a jog dial, then I would assume there is no touch screen and would behave like the Q.

Anybody find any more info on this phone yet?

That's quite common with Windows Mobile devices. More than once, I've seen the wrong type of WM screenshot pasted on by the company graphics intern or whoever. Official photos like this are always Photoshopped to look as good as possible, but the graphics people don't always understand technical stuff like Smartphone vs. PocketPC, etc.
