This can be either cool or lame. Like lame when Kyocera came out with the Oystr. Or the Mercedes Kompressor - sounds like something from a cheezy video game more than like a luxury car. On the other hand, some places find it more beneficial to change to alphanumeric non word designations - Acura swapping the Integra for the RSX for instance.

I know it will be better to have this than trying to differentiate between the 6256i and the 6265i. That is a pain in my behind. 😡

Actually Kompressor means the engine is supercharged. The biggest pain with nokia's numbering system is the higher numbers don't always mean it is a higher end model.

More accurately, i believe kompressor is the german word for supercharged. Just a marketing tactic to make americans think it's something more special than it already is (there's plenty of other "kompressor" cars out there), but i digress.

I think kick ass names are cool, but naming aside, a product that is good will sell regardless of the name.
