they are GSM. hopefully we will get some cdma ones. It will be interesting to see how video calling is implemented. Wonder what it will cost here in the US of A?
...
Technically, you already have CDMA versions. What's groundbreaking about these phones is that they are equipped with HSDPA and will be the first RAZR phones to have it in the US. The CDMA RAZR variants already have EVDO (broadband of their own).
Aside from the 2 megapixel camera, there really isn't anything for CDMA users to be envious of right now.
...
Oops, and the QVGA display.
...
Another thing too is things RAZR has a memory card slot, but where I wonder, I understand, but am not all that fond of this under the battery stuff.
Also to those of you who support CDMA, which over 170 countries, DO NOT, this HSDPA RAZR is as the article says capable of 3.6mbps, which is not EVDO speeds, it would be equivalent to EVDO Rev.A
...
RAZR memory card is under battery door, but on top of battery. Not as nice as an external slot, but at least you don't have to turn the phone off.
Rev.A might be here as soon as HSDPA the way things are looking.
...
Isn't HSDPA already here? ! ? ! ? With the launch of the LG CU500! That's an HSDPA handset, It may not be a 3.6mbps handset, but it is a 1.8mbps handset, and I believe it's a heck of a lot LESS hassle with GSM carriers using you mobile as a modem than it is with evil Verizon.
...
but from what I have heard, HSDPA coverage is still pretty much non-existent in many markets, so for practical purposes, it isn't here, unless you are in one of the few covered areas.
...
Right now it's 18 cities, and by the end of the year it's SUPPOSE to be 100 markets, so, there's only 5 months left in the year, so we'll see.
