Before we go charging phones with water, how about making phones waterproof?

While I agree with what everyone has said so far, you gotta admit this is a pretty cool idea. If only more people used electrolysis to power stuff.

And to play the devil's advocate for just a second, I don't think that you actually pour water into the phone. It's probably more of a unit that you plug a battery into to charge. I used the equipment to seperate water into it's component parts and while it's not big and heavy, it's probably not something you're gonna lug around in your pocket.

I agree that someone should start making waterproof phones. I also agree with BlueKnightOne. This is a really cool idea, don't get me wrong. But I can see where it is going to start problems with phones getting wet easily.

I'm thinking the charger is sealed, genius.

Why would anyone want a charger that only lasts a few cahrges? Why not just by another battery.

OR! Make a freakin' battery that can withstand the technology use of the phone! Seriously, if a battery can't even last one day with normal usage of a high-end phone. Then what's the point of having the phone...

So, instead we make phones like the Moto V195 that have 10 hrs. of talk time and 21 days stand by time. Not that it's not a good idea, but then why don't these high-end bells and whistles phones have the same if not more battery life than that to begin with.

I think high end "bells and whistles" phones use more power consuming features? 🙄

I'm willing to bet the Moto V195 doesn't have wifi, bluetooth( or at least fully functional bt),2 mp camera, mp3 player?

And, I find it hard to beleive that any phone would actually last 3 weeks on standby. If you don't like current battery technology, why don't you make your own?

How could I make my own battery? I do not have the means or materials to do so.

If I'm gonna pay $300+ for a media/data phone then they should come with batterys that can full support normal to high usage of the phone that should last more than a few days charge.

No sense in having a high-resolution screen if I can't even look at it at it brightest without wearing down the battery... Or having an mp3 player than I can only listen to a few songs on. or play 10 minutes of video...

High-end goes as far as battery life can support. So if battery life can barely support these media/data phones, then maybe we aren't ready for these phones yet... or they shouldn't have such battery drainging features yet...

I feel you pain, well did. Thats why I bought this new thing called a car charger. So now I can use my phone in the car as much as I want with out the battery going dead.

I like the new technology, while this particular application is not very effective, has anyone seen a cell-boost? Its a battery to charge you phone that cannot be recharged. its 6.99 for 1 hour worth of charge.

If these things actually work one day they will make a battery that will actually use water to power the entire phone.

Ever used an analog phone before? Jeeze those things hardly would ever get 3/4 of a day let alone a whole day (except for some Nokia phones). As it was then it is now again in a way except for the phones do a whole lot more. Just wait a while and there will be better battery technology or better power conservation technologies in the future to fix current battery woes ... just sort of in a way the digial did to analog, and Li-Ion did to NiCad/NiMH.
