Emergency Alerts Coming To Phones
Another Way for Us to HAve to Spend More Money
1. Do you think that we will have to pay an extra tax on this service....(i.e the 911 tax...when the GPS location network is not even running at all 911 call centers)? I cant wait to pay more in taxes for services i dont really want...(i know there is a storm coming when i look outside...or hey go on the web from my phone and check the weather.)
2. I think these alerts are going to come as text messages....so will i be charge for this text message....even if i never really wanted it....and even if i am on a text messaging plan...will it count as a message...???
i wonder????
Good thing i make millions of dollars and really dont care how much my phone bill costs.
How can someone be so short sighted to only be concerned about the cost involved. What is a human life worth??? In my opinion you cannot put a dollar amount on that.
IF, I have to pay a little extra so that my life, my families lives, my friends lives or even a complete strangers life can be saved than so be it. The article did not even say it would cost the general public anything. It did say however that an individual could o...

i live in tornado ally(Oklahoma) but i work in doors in a mall few no windows in my store...i have weather alerts already sent 2 my phone by free services but honestly they come 20-30 mins after the warning has been issued!! not good when in 20-30 a storm can destroy your way of life with out warning...so if the system is more timely then i give it 2 thumbs up....
and cost should be minumum its just servers connecting to other network once in place its low maintance....or even more basic....1 man a phone and bunch of numbers he calls to send the warning.....much like they still do now in many areas 🤣
then do the rest of us a favor, move somewhere else. I'm sure myself and a lot of Americans outside the liberal mecca of NYC, the beltway area of DC, the left coast are flat tired of the crap that has been shov...

As we all know txt messages sent from the carrier are free of charge. Just like calling customer service is free of charge.
so a small company will start this service and then we all will be charged for about 10 years and then we will get to use this after that..
woo hoo ... i cannot wait...oh wait i dont care.....
Second, when you receive a text from your wireless company, you do not get charged. And if for some reason you do get charged from your carrier, then switch because they are crap. The article clearly indicates that the messages will be sent to the carriers and then distributed to it's customers in the areas being affected.
Third, if you don't care about messages, have your company turn th...
