...for the little "all you can talk" carriers that everybody thought would have bought it by now. It seems as if these carriers (Metro, Cricket, etc...) are making enough money to buy lucrative licenses in major markets. Good for them. This'll continue to keep the big boys on their toes.

pfft.......the big boys will use the guppies as a stepping stone.

the only little guy making it is altell.

suncom has a chance but they dont know what they are doing. they need to revamp their higher office.

Alltel is on the Fortune 500 list last time I checked. It's not quite the little guy everyone thinks it is.

I beg to differ, So. Metro's got what, 1 million customers in South Florida alone? I'll tell you this much: They've become reliable enough that an appraiser like myself could rely on them to provide me with consistent service and more than enough minutes each month.

This is the stupidest news article ever. LEAP has been doing business in Oregon for several years as Cricket. Salem was the first city, I believe, and thru roaming agreements, was able to use Verizon or Sprint outside of the Unlimited calling area, NATIONWIDE. Anyway, Cricket is known for (at least in the past) a replacement for pagers. A lot of drug dealers liked the Prepay arrangement and the ease of getting an account. Good for the small guy, but Cricket, hopefully will require more stringent application criteria. Oregon is known for being a major Meth state, and if Cricket really expands into Portland and Eugene, then a potential communication method is being handed over to drug dealers. Go get 'em, Cricket!

And that, my friends, is the type of careless, ignorant customer that Cricket shall thrive on.

ohh wow it thats not the stupiest comment ever 🙄 ...i know cricket doesnt provide great service(in the tulsa,ok area) but they do serve a purpose and fill their niche nicely... cricket is perfect for ppl with bad credit or lack of control on how they use thier minutes(teenagers). where im from cricket is the only phone for many ppl because the deposit @ other carriers are to high for them to initially afford and they dont have to worry about their usage. im an us cellular agent and honestly i get about 5-10 ppl a week that switch from cricket only because their coverage out side of tulsa sucks. but i get probably the same # of ppl that pass us up(initially) due to their credit or they use way to many minutes that would be idiotic to use...
