Sanyo Katana: A thin, RAZR-esque clamshell available in four colors. There's a bright QVGA screen inside, and a second color display outside. Features include VGA camera, Bluetooth (including DUN), PCS Vision 1xRTT data, and speakerphone.

Well, if it says 1xrtt and doesn’t mention EV-DO then tells us one thing- it doesn’t have EV-DO on it.

OR...it could simpy be an error. You're telling us a phone of this magnitude won't have EVDO built into it? You're far too simple.

OR, it could simply be my inability to investigate a little further (i.e., the giant Sprint article at the top of the page). Who'da thunk Sanyo'd release this phone without EVDO?

PS--And before Nextel18 gets all pissy, let's just say I wasn't fond of his smarmy "you should have known this" tone.

I wasn't trying to start a flame war here, I was just surprised to see that Sprint was releasing a "higher end" phone without EVDO.

I wouldn't really consider this a "higher-end" phone.

The only feature close to "high-end" it offers is bluetooth.

But, I do consider this to be a "trendy" phone, being slim w/ a camera. I think this is a really smart move on Sprint's part. If you work in the wireless industry, you'd know that 9 out of 10 people don't care about TV, Power Vision/EV-DO, or high res camera and display. Some people care about bluetooth, but not the majority. Almost everyone I deal w/ just wants a "cool" looking phone that gets good reception...

If you watch the RAZR commercials, it hardly mentions any features, it's too busy showing you how "slim and cool" the phone is.

Any idea if this phone will support Sprint's Family Locator as a Parent Phone?

Not sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say yes?

If you're going to call someone out, do it like a man for God's sake. That IS possible, right? Maybe not.
