I miss the hidden D pad

I really liked the hidden touch sensitive keys on the original. That was a huge selling point for me. It's still a nice looking phone, just sad they decided to kill the hidden keys ☹️

two birds, same stone, they wanted it to look like an Ipod I guess...

BTW:
The 8500 is also touch sensitive, including the touchwheel.
The only difference is that the original had the flat surface and this one is flat with an concave wheel built into it.

I think his point is that the navigation buttons appear to be visable even when the red backlighting is not on. On the GSM Chocolate when the lights are off all of the nav keys are completely hidden.

I must say I seemed to have fallen for the hidden D pad which was also a HUGE selling point for me.It gave it the finishing "touch" 🤤 in my opinion. Its not a major dealbreaker... Im sure I will still buy the verizon version since I have no other choice. Also very happy verizon is adding great phones to their lineup at the moment Im enjoying the SAM A930!!!! I need a release date for the verizon chocolate plz ASAP!!!

I agree, that was a really key part of its design for me too. Again, not a dealbreaker though.
Now I'm on the fence for this one or the Samsung 990 due out soon as well... The 990 has wicked tech, but I think I might be in the market for a slick design. We'll see...
