Why? Everybody here seems to hate "Chocolate"... I like it. The down side would be that's it's misleading, bc you cannot eat your phone, but it is a catchy though.
Anyway, get ready, you'll hear it every where, and they will MAKE YOU like it.

I like the name myself and think that it is actually a pretty creative marketing tactic by LG. The problem that most people seem to have with the name is that they are taking it literally (blame the RAZR). The phone isn't brown and we all know it doesn't look like a real chocolate bar, but it does pique everyones interest when they here the name. I belive they are trying to make more of an emotional connection with the desire people have for chocolate and hopefully for this phone.

Regardless if people "get it" or not, the name is doing its job because people are buzzing about it and that is exactly what LG/Verizon wants.

exactly.
Also, it's not about the color, it could be white and it would be white chocolate, my point is who cares, it about the buttons looking like chocolate squares anyway right?

Chocolate phones in Korea originally was scented to remind people of chocolate (I didn't know chocolate had a scent).

It was a marketing thing and in 7 weeks of launch outside Korea, LG has sold over a million phones.

Not bad, but time will tell if they get the 50 million units Moto squeezed out of the RAZR.
