Samsung Announces Thinnest Flip Yet
If You Don't Work in Wireless.... Shut Up!
Any one that works in the wireless industry knows that, unfortunately, style almost always wins out over substance. In the case of the Razr, there are tons of phones out there that have tried to replicate the design and bolster the features, but none of these phones will ever reproduce the types of sales that the Razr has experienced in its 19 months that its been on the market.
When it comes to quality, there isn't a single GSM Samsung out there that can go pound for pound with the Razr when it comes to RF Performance. Just this year alone, I have sold more Razrs in the last 2 months, than the...

The childish Sanyo fanboy who can't seem to get over calling people names on webforums?
Pathetic 😛 🙄
if a person wants a high RF rating, they need to be in a nokia, hands down. but more people are more concerned with whats popular and whats "eyepopping". thats a fact of life that every true wireless salesperson should have realized a week into their jobs.
perhaps you haven't used the d307...the RF on that phone blows the RAZR out of the water...and i've owned and used both of them.
and going off your coment about having the biggest impact on the market, thats all creative advertising. its all bells and whistles of advertising that have given the razr its place. samsung could just as easily market the blade, or any of its other phones, like the ...

I've worked in wireless for years, and I think that the Razr's RF is subpar at best.

Stop hating on the RAZR... I've owned quite a few phones and some of those were RAZRs... It is a great phone with excellent RF... I think Motorola makes good products but have not been able to come up with something not based on the original RAZR...
Off the RF topic:
Personally, I think Samsung needs to stop using the dull looking black plastic on their phones (BLADE and T809)... although they are good phones... just think they feel and look cheap
My friend has the RAZR, and it can't even accept most of my video files from my T809 because it can't hold more than like 20 secs of video file. Maybe they'll fix this with the V3i.
I really don't see how all you RAZR nuts think this phone like rulz, but c'mon... all it has is a VGA camera, bluetooth, and like 20 sec video capture not including the Verizon version because cingular launched it first, and T-Mobile and cingular have the same features, and their color RAZR's are more popular. Also where I work we don't even sell Verizon..
so.. yeah.. when you compare that p.o.s. to the Bl...

T809 and BLADE are good phones like I said before, I just personally dont like the dull-looking black Samsung uses... I had the new Samsung a930 and although its a very nice phone, didnt like the cheap feel to it... so I changed it for my LG 8300 (One of the best phones right now) ...IMO
😁
REALLY JUST CHILL OUT! 🤣
Uh, so you can sell more. Duh.

For everyone here that's been battling on this message board about the Razr vs Samsung that doesn't work in wireless, you should really pipe down.
....Startak and the v60 in Motorola's portfolio....
Star-tac, not Startak... Guess if you're trying to show you oh so high knowledge of the wireless industry (cause you make it clear anyone who doesn't work in the industry wouldn't know what they're talking about), maybe you should know how to spell one of the highest selling phone lines....

Why pipe down? This is a free forum and a free country. You don't have to work in wireless to comment. You pipe down.
Samsung has the lowest return rate of any vender on Cingular Wireless.
The highest.
Motorola.

Well, between the two, I've heard that Motorola out sells Samsung by 6 to 1 at most Cingular locations, so more returns would be expected.
Moving on. Comparing ANY CDMA phone to ANY GSM phone is an exercise in futility. You're comparing apples to oranges when you do that, and we all know that all THEY have in common is that they're both fruit.
Next, Motorola has a larger sales figure than Samsung for one reason and one reason only: Brand Recognition. People recognize Moto as one of the largest names in cell phones and radio devices worldwide. Throw that in with the fact that they were first out of the box with the ultra-slim form factor and you've got a recipe for lots of sales. People tend to think that the first...

Frankly, I think both brands suck

Oh well, to each his/her own.

I'm more of a Sony Ericsson person myself, but that's just me. Nokia's not bad, but I just don't like the UI.
Oh well, to each his/her own.
Perhaps you'll prefer Verizon's creepy "1984, state controlled" GUI. Ooooooooo. Creepy.
I understand the desire to have all phones work the same way, but DAMN to mandate a GUI?!?!?! If ya want 'em all to work the same way why not just buy from one manufacturer...oh and hey, why not use a proprietary technology while you're at it? (read: Nextel)
Some people like Mac's, others like Linux, and then there are the mindless millions with Windows. 😁

I'm afraid I'm one of those mindless millions using Windows XP Professional. And I agree completely about using the same GUI for every phone they sell. Where's the fun in that?
