There are so many phones that have tried to beat the RAZR and have succeeded.

ya i understand your comment, but you have to think, if you were samsung, or an other brand, wouldn't you want to top the most popular ( not best but popular) phone? but i do still understand that other manufacturer's should come out of something new and original.

If you have had a RAZR or know anyone that does, they all say that they suck. Samsung has been an innovator in almost everything. So should nobody be allowed to come out with mp3 phones since Samsung made the first one?

Yes, other companies may not sell as many thin phones as the RAZR due to Motorola's popularity. However, the RAZR, regarding its quality, is absolutely terrible! One more time...Terrible! Working for CIngular, the RAZR phones have a higher return/exchange rate of any phone. I would much rather have a Samsung over a RAZR.

I have never been impressed by any samsung that cingular has ever carried, the d807 may be an exception but haven't had much of a chance to use it.
My RAZR has never failed me in any way other the battery life and data speed.
But hey its just personal preference i guess....

have you ever thought that the reason for such a high return/exchange rate could be that cingular sells way more razrs than any of its other phone (with the exception of teh freebies)?

the more of one phone you sell, the more of them you'll get back.

Motorola sucks. They still have OS issues. Plus, Samsung believes in testing their products and perfecting them before they put them on the market for sale. You need to really check your facts before you say Motorola is tops. The RAZR name will only last a little while longer. They can't keep that thing popular forever. Just like the Ipod. It will lose its popularity. Since I have had a Samsung phone, I haven't had any problems. I had the Moto V635 last year, and it had ALOT of bugs. I got it 6 months after it was launched. That should have given Moto some time to perfect it. I returned it. Samsung is beating Motorola. 😛

That comparison is not entirely fair. iPod follows Macs well known business principle, be the best at everything but compatible with nothing. I own an iPod and while it is extremely proprietary, it works well, and they replaced it when it broke. Moto is trying to be popular and it seems that quality is slipping while they are grasping for popular designs and cheap phones. As far as the good old fashioned rip of goes, usually the best clone wins, not the originator.

If any of u think that any company including samsung or moto or nokia or anyone else makes great phones right of the line is mistaken. All the makers out there keep releasing updates via firmwares all the time through the realease of their phones becase they never get it right. All of the razrs have had like 9 different firmware versions. Samsung makes good quality products but they dont get it right on the first try either. Although i do believe they put more quality into the actual hardware, but software wise all phones are have some bugs.

the Sanyo 6000 is 10mm thick and that came out lightyears before the gay razr came out. so moto didnt make anything up , they just spammed the word thin 2 million times and all the nubs went and bought it.

One day I was at work and this girl and her mom comes up, and wants to buy a RAZR from T-Mobile. The little girl says to her mom "Mom it's the RAZR. It's the best phone in the world! You have to get it!" And I was kinda tinking to myself (with my Samsung T809 in my pocket) no it's not.

I mean if you look at the NGage that came out eons ago. I believe there are two. They support bluetooth, memory card slot, fm radio... I mean seriously... The V3i should've been the RAZR, and then the V3i should've added an fm radio, like 2-3 megapixel camera, longer video mode, video calling, ptt, and some other features.

I mean the only thing the RAZR has on other phones is merely form factor and the name. I mean if you really look at the other phones ...

The reason why people buy the RAZR is because every a$$hole and their grandmother has one. It's not because it's good. And just like the same reason people buy an iPod. Again, because every a$$hole and their grandmother has one. There have been superior products than the ipod as well. The sound quality on the iPod sucks. Any real audiophile will tell you that. Creative's products are much better.

Samsuck almost had something with the A900 (Blade) Beautiful screen (worlds better than the crap RAZR's) and more internal memory. But the problem with the Blade was the battery life sucked and it was too buggy.

While Samsuck got the QVGA screen right, they should have put a transflash slot in there, improved the battery life and fixed the bl...

They do have a GSM version...SGH-D810.

The Samsung A900 has it's Bluetooth problems fixed completely. The Samsung A900 has it's picture mail issues fixed completely. The Samsung A900 has a quick UI, magnesium body, as well as Bluetooth 1.2 (RAZR 1.1). Furthermore, The Samsung does not have the horrendous quality control problems of the RAZR. It gets excellent RF, has more features, and sells great. Battery life on the A900 is the same as the other CDMA RAZR, the V3c/m, all while using a high resolution display.

As for TransFlash, it was in the demo units early on...Cebu cut it because of lack of need/demand for that functionality and to keep it competitively priced (RAZR didn't have it then either).

they're coming out with an upgraded version of the A900 in august that will have a memory card slot. i haven't heard specifics about size, but needless to say...will continue to be worlds better than the razr.
