Paul, you're being very kind by using the word "shady." Looks like these rebate programs were designed by the UN... πŸ™„

I didn't even get ripped off but I'm posting this same message 3 times to prove a point - read the article and understand that mailing in the rebate isn't always just as simple as doing what you were asked no matter how bizarre.

"On example from 2004 alleges InPhonic required that consumers send in a wireless bill at least 120 days old to qualify for certain rebatesβ€”but at the same time, the document had to be postmarked within 120 days of service activation in order to get the rebate."

😁 If it sounds too good to be true, it probaby isn't worth the trouble. This is exactly why I recommend people don't buy phones over the net. Serves those people right for refusing to go to a store and pay what everybody else has to pay. So, just to save a couple of bucks they wound up with nothing but grief. Companies like that souldnt be allowed to exist either cuz the do nothing but give our industry a bad name.

Yes I can't tell you how many times I've said this to people. Whenever I tell them the price on a phone they say they've seen it cheaper online πŸ™„ . All I can tell them is it will end up costing you lots of pain and anguish when something goes wrong with the phone and you can't take it anywhere. Phones are fine to buy online but contracts on the other hand are a whole different story!

πŸ‘€ Agreed. I tell customers the same thing. "When your phone breaks, are you going to take it to the internet to get fixed?" ha ha
